Chapter 18

I got shot. By the slut. She was being checked by the ambulance and had an officer talking to someone else right by her. She grabbed his gun and made a shot at me. Lucky it was only my shoulder not something too bad. But I was in the hospital. They took me into surgery to get the bullet out and they did. I was just sitting up on the bed flipping through the channels on the tv. My left arm was in a sling and I wanted to rip it off so bad but when I tried to take it off it hurt like a lot. I shook my head.
"Hey" abs said coming in with a little get well soon bear. She set it down on the stand and took a seat next to me.
"Hey" I replied.
"Why didn't you tell me what was going on last night? I could've been there to help or something" she asked.
"We had it handled and I didn't want any of you guys getting hurt. I only got shot. I'm not dead. I'm alive. That's the best part of this" I answered.
"You're saying that getting shot wasn't a big deal when it is" she replied.
"But I'm alive" I responded looking back up at the tv.
"Has your dad been here to see you yet?" She asked changing the subject.
"Nope" I answered.
"Do you think he's going to?" She replied.
"Probably but right now they are still talking to him about what happened and he's not liking the fact that his new baby mama is now in jail. The thing is. He doesn't know yet that she lied about it being his" I responded.
"What's going on with the brother?" She asked.
"I guess he's got some murder charges on him in a few different states. I'm happy he didn't kill Jacobs dad last night. If he did then we wouldn't be here today" I answered.
"We owe the Adams so much for that" my mom said coming in with a small smile on her face. She came over and kissed my forehead.
"They are bringing you up lunch" She added.
"Finally. I'm starving" I said. Abs laughed.
"Guessing they won't give you seconds? She asked.
"Nope. Or snacks. Like I'm hungry. I wanted more breakfast but couldn't get anymore" I answered shaking my head. My mom rolled her eyes with a bigger smile.

It was a little after I ate when he came in. Everyone was out. Jacob was with his dad. Mom and abs went to get some food for themselves. So it was just me and him. My dad took a seat next to my bed.
"They did testing on me and her to see if the baby was really mine or not. I made them do it. It's not. She lied. You were right. I let her destroy so much with our family. I'm sorry" he said. I nodded.
"Maybe you shouldn't have slept around" I replied.
"I'm sorry I hurt you and your mom. It was a choice and I'll live with it for the rest of my life" he responded. I nodded again.
"Look I'm getting tired and I was hoping to get some rest" I said. I didn't want to be around him. Might take awhile before I'm okay with being around him again. He nodded. He stood up and looked at me.
"I love you kiddo" he said. I looked away from him.  He left the room and I laid back on the bed. I turned the cartoon station on and watched it for a bit.

I walked into the house with my mom following behind me along with Abby. Jacob was with his dad right now and couldn't come by until later.
"I'm gonna be going back to your grandfathers in a few days. I don't really want to be in the area that long" mom said.
"I understand" I replied looking at her.
"I'm going to get some food for the house. The kitchen is almost empty. I'll be back in a little bit" mom responded. I nodded. She walked out of the door and I looked at Abby.
"Do you think they will get back together since the slut is gone and your mom is here?" She asked.
"I have no idea. If they do I'm still not forgiving him for bringing her into our lives and ruining everything" I answered. She nodded.
"Let's watch some tv" she changed the subject. I followed her into the living room and she turned on the tv. She put on grown ups and I smiled.

I heard the front door open and I went to see if mom was back. It wasn't her. It was Jacob. I smiled and went over to him. He wrapped his arms around me and kissed my head. I looked at him.
"I think you missed" I said. He smiled.
"I did?" He played. I nodded. He leaned down and kissed me. I kissed him back. I snuggled into him a little bit.
"Hey guys are we ordering in tonight?" Abby said walking in on us.
"Oh hey Jacob. Thought you were her mom" she said. He chuckled and moved his arms from around me. I grabbed his hand and we went to the living room. We sat down on the couch and I snuggled into Jacob again. He wrapped his arm around my shoulders and put his other hand on my thigh. My legs were over his lap.
"Let's order in" I said with my hand out for the phone.
