It was the two year anniversary of Alluras sacrifice. The team was sitting by her monument, talking and laughing and just having nice memories with their princess. They all were lighthearted but still had that small speck of dread running through their veins. They missed their princess. Keith was giving a small speech as he did every year. Pidge and hunk were sitting hand in hand while Shiro and Curtis ate the last of their dinner and listened. Though, Lance was no where near the memorial. He hadn't shown up to any group meetings or hang outs. He mostly spent his time in his farm house or doing work. There wasn't a day where he had a break, nor wanted one. Keith was nearing the end of his speech when Shiro stood up. He was approached by his older brother before getting a whisper in his ear. He paused and just nodded quietly. He spoke as Shiro sat back down. "That is all I have to say. I have to go for a bit..ten minutes or so-." He laughed awkwardly and gave his friends and family hugs and affection before heading to his bike. He waved them goodbye before heading off. The blade needed him due to a very large and important shipment of aid supplies. As he was heading off he turned to look back at his team. Pidge was standing and smiling, giving a small memorial speech now to readjust the mood. Keith just turned back in his seat and went back to riding. He had a small smile plastered on his face as he rode. He loved his little team. Even though they weren't the legendary defenders anymore they still had their legacy and family. They had each other. He glanced around as he rode, taking mental notes of his surroundings. On his way to the aid site he passed by a familiar farm. The flowers were still a booming magenta color and growing well. He slowed his bike a bit, watching the flowers sway in the small breeze. It wouldn't hurt too bad to visit his ex-rival just once? It was Alluras anniversary after all. He headed toward the entrance to the farm land, making sure his bike was slow and steady as the ground changed from asphalt to gravel. The house lights were on in the day time which was an unusual occurrence. He approached the house before slowing to a stop. He slipped off his bike, turning it off and fixing his clothes and making sure he looked decent. He looked at the porch and messed with his hands before making his way over to the porch. He stepped up the cracked and weather fondled stairs. He stood on the wooden porch, rather close to the door due to fear and awkwardness. He slowly raised his hand and knocked on the door before dropping it back down. He messed with his gloves due to an uprising of contemplation.Keith didn't plan on what he was even going to say or even how to greet the guy he hadn't seen since Alluras passing. He looked down at his clothes to make sure he looked nice since first impressions matter? He heard a small click at the door and quiet breathing. It was raspy and slow, almost like an elderly man suffering his last few breathes. Keith looked back up. There wasn't glass or anything to see if somebody was there. He just took his chances. "Hello?" He spoke. It was barely a whisper. The breathing stopped in an instant. Keith raised a brow at the sudden silence but shrugged it off. "Lance, Buddy, cmon. It's been two years. I wanna talk to my sharpshooter-" he wanted to convince himself that'd crack Lance. He knew Lance was more mature now and humble and over all less bubbly due to his alone time. The door clicked a few more times before slowly creeping open. The breathing still hasn't picked back up. This made Keith slightly uncomfortable. He backed away from the door and peered in. What he saw was far from the ordinary. His face morphed from nervousness to worry. That wasn't the lance Keith recognized.
