You were out with your friend, Abigail. You just moved into Los Angeles, meeting someone like Abigail in the city. You two became great friends. You don't really know anything about her or her family, you just know their names but not really a lot. You've met her older sister, Ashley maybe a few times, met her older brother once before. "Hey, Y/N." Abigail spoke up, you brought your gaze to her.
"My mom is gonna throw a small party, its just dinner and games but I thought you'd like to join." You didn't feel like making an excuse to not go, your lips parted, "Yeah, sure. Just give me the time and I'll be there."
"Cool! I can pick you up." She said, you guys were driving back to your house, seeing your dog's head poke through the curtains. "Aw, there's D/N. He can come too if he'd like to."
"Oh no, he's a shy dog."
"Oh come on, we have a dog and he'll love a new friend. He'll be fine." She said, you couldn't just argue over a dog so you just smiled at her, "Thanks, Abby." She nods. "You're welcome...and hey, it's not a party, party, just wear something comfortable." I nod and closed the door, heading up to the door and entering. "Hey, D/N." You took him out and walked over to the TV, watching something simple but not stupid.

You recently got a text from Abigail 30 minutes ago saying she was heading over to pick you up. You got into a nice but comfy outfit.

(Usually I don't put outfit picks in the story, I just put them up top but your boy is up there.)
You grabbed Jim after Abigail texted you she had arrived and was waiting patiently. You let D/N into the back and entered in the front, she smiled at your dog. "Hello, D/N." She reached over to pet him. She looks over, "That's a little too much." She looked at your outfit.
"It's my style of comfy." You said, she smiled pulling out to drive to the house. "So, don't be shy. They're really nice, I don't want you to feel left out." You sighed, "I do love your family, but what if they don't like me?"
"You're overreacting, they're like me but different people. You'll love them." She pulled up into the drive way, spotting a few other cars parked. D/N was anxiously moving around in the back. "It's okay, boy. You'll make a new friend here." You and Abigail stepped out, helping D/N out also as you took him inside with Abigail.
"Hey, we're here!" Abigail shouted, you felt this feeling, scared and nervousness. You saw a small woman walk in, "Hi, welcome. It's so good to see you finally." She pulls you into a hug, your dog curled up next to you like a child grabbing at your legs. "I'm Laura, Abigail's mom. Come in, come in. You're very beautiful, by the way."
"Thank you, Mrs. Dun. Nothing really much." You said, you carefully took in D/N into the living room. Another dog runs up and sniffs your anxious one, you knelt down soothing D/N. "Jim, be nice. He's a little scared, give him sometime to adjust to the house." You heard someone speak up, your eyes shifted up to a man sitting on the couch. "You must be a friend, I'm guessing?" You asked, unhooking the leash off of your dog. "I'm a sibling of Abigails." He replied, you took up. "Abigails'? She never told me about you." He stands up.
"Well, I'm Josh. The oldest in the family."
"Do you get cocky in the family?" You joked, he laughs lightly, "No. Wouldn't brag about my life to you." He said, his eyes look down at your dog. "He's cute."
"That's D/N. He's a small pupper. About 10 months old." Josh kneels down, pulling his hand out in front of him. D/N leans forward to sniff his hand, "What's his breed?"
"D/B (Dog/Breed), he was a rescue. They said a few puppies were left out on the street." He frowns, "Aw. Well, now you just made his life better now." He stands up, the both of you were just gazing into each other's eyes, his grin slowly crawling on his lips. "Hey Y/N I... Oh, I see you've met the oldest sibling in the family."
"Yeah, which I haven't heard about." You laugh, "Oh well, I thought you knew him." She said, a confused look came across your face. "Knew him? Have we met before?" You asked, they just looked at you confusingly. "I play in a band." He says, you smile, "What? You play jazz?" He shrugs, "In bars, yeah. Sometimes." He said. You were about to ask more but Laura spoke up.
"Hey, I got dinner ready." She called, you and the siblings were all sitting down. You sat next to Abigail while Josh sat across from you. You both look up and gave each other soft smile before grabbing some food from the bowls and trays. You all laughed and you even talked about what you did or where you used to work at. After the delicious food that Laura made, you all made it to the living room.
You and Josh sat on the couch with his brother, Jordan and Abigail. You and Josh said a few jokes and shared a few laughs. Your dog soon got along with the family and played with Josh's dog, Jim. It was currently passed 10, and you all still laughed and talk. "Mind if I drive her home, Abigail?" Josh spoke up, Abs looks over and shrugs "If Y/N is fine with it, usually she hates going without me."
You rolled your eyes, "I'm actually heading out, I just thought she would like to head out also. I could take her." He says.
"Yeah, I wouldn't mind. D/N." You said, Josh smiles, messing with his hat on his head. "Alright."
You and Josh brought both your dogs in the cat of his, and you sat in the passengers seat. "Where do you live?"
"-------- Street." You said, he nods, "That's perfect, that's straight to my place." He laughs lightly. After a small conversation about more of your life, he laughed at the funniest moments that you had with friends or family. Your house appeared on your side, seeing some of your lights were on. "Thanks for the ride, Josh. I really appreciate it."
"No problem. I can be your personal uber." He jokes, causing you to laugh. "D/N never really has dog friends, and I do love your dog he's beautiful." Josh glanced at his dog, "He's pretty cute." He says.
You grab D/N, smiling at Josh, "Hope I see you again," You said, walking up to your door, "Y/N!" Josh called your name, you turned and saw his hand was holding your dog's leash. "You forgot..." He smiled while he exhaled heavily. "Thanks." You replied, taking the leash from his hand.
"Y/N, I-..." He cuts himself off, you tilt your head, "What is it?" You asked.
"Can... Can I take you out? To coffee? Or the dog park?"
"Are you asking me out on a date, Josh?" A smile creeping on your lips. "Yeah... that's what I was going for? Did it come out too weird?" He asked, you laughed. "Yes. I would love to go out with you, Josh."
"Cool." He pulls out his phone and you added in your number, "I'll call you or text you a time and date."
"That's sounds like a plan." You said. He kissed your cheek and pet your dog's head gently before leaving to his car. His eyes never leaving yours but then darted in front to drive off. You let your dog in, closing the front door while your back leaned on it. "He just asked me out..."
"Joshua Dun, just asked... me...out." You laughed, covering your face with your hands. Knowing you just found yourself a nice and cute guy who is actually your best friends brother.
