"What's with you and Chase?" I asked Liv. Asher's house was more of a cottage than anything and I couldn't see three boys living in such a small house, but as we entered I realized that the space was actually pretty big from inside. The party was in full swing in the hall and there were quite a lot of people, but it wasn't crowded enough to be suffocating.
We made our way to a dining like area where the guys were playing a game of truth and Liv scoffed at my question. "It's nothing. He is a player. That's just how they are. If you swoon, they want it. If you roll your eyes they really want it." She rolled her eyes and shook her head. "The best thing a girl can do is just stay locked up in her apartment."
"Hey gorgeous!" Cole called out to Mia and gave her a winning smile. Oh he was already drunk alright. "7 billion smiles in the world" He started and I got a feeling that he was gonna regret whatever he was going to say in a few seconds "and yours is the worst."
He regretted it.
"C'mon let's start the game." Mia said taking her place at the table while Cole turned to Evie clutching his nose. "Is it broken?" He asked and she pinched his nose. "Ow!" He cried out. She shrugged. "Probably." Then she joined Mia beside her.
"So what is this game we are playing?" I asked as we took our seats at the table sitting in circle. I was beside Asher at my right side and Liv at my left, followed by Mia, Evie and Kevin. Stephan and Cole sat beside Asher. "It's simple." Asher told me. "We just spin this bottle and whoever it lands on gets to ask a question to anyone in the group. It's just a truth and dare game, except just truth, and the fact that no one every replies truthfully." I laughed. "Seems like fun."

"Why don't you have any social media account?" Mia asked Asher. Here was the thing about the game 'spin the bottle' that I realized half way through, something Asher failed to warn me about. If a person laughed at anything funny said by anyone in the group, they had to take a shot. Which was why Stephan, Cole, and Asher were downright drunk while Mia, Kevin and Liv were completely sober. I and Evie were somewhere in the middle, but only because I had good alcohol tolerance and Evie was good at the game except when it came to Kevin (who was most of the time just being deadpan but his blank expression was just so hilarious).
Asher frowned. "I just...hate creating accounts because of the passwords." He said, and then started moving his fingers as if pretending to type. "Every time I put a password that I could remember, the AI is all 'Sorry but your password must contain an upper case letter, a number, a haiku, a gang sign, a hieroglyph and the blood of a virgin'" He said scrunching his nose and Cole and Stephan laughed (simultaneously taking their shots) while I barely contained my own.
Mia spinned the bottle and it landed on her. She pointed at Stephan. "Tell us your worst date till date." She asked. It took him a moment to remember. "I once took a girl to Starbucks because I forgot her name." He said and Cole laughed. "Dude, those guys never get them right!" He said and Stephan shrugged. "Yeah, that ended in a disaster. Obviously." Mia and Liv just shook their head, although I noticed the hint of smile on Mia.
"What's your biggest fear?" Stephan asked me when the bottle pointed to him.
Well, that hit too close to home.
I made a point not to glance at Asher as I felt him stare at me.
"My biggest fear" is losing another loved one "it's that I'm married and then one day my husband says 'let's cut sugar out of our diet' so I have to leave with the kids in the middle of the night." I said and Stephan, Cole, Asher and Liv laughed while Kevin, Mia and Evie smiled bemusedly.
