For the next couple weeks Scarlett worked with Bambi, and was amazed at how fast she learned. Her moves were identical to Scarlett and had everything down pat. Even her moves on the pole were spot on. She had called Malachi asking if they could come in a day early to show how well Bambi had learned and told him how proud of her she was to have learned so quickly.

"Not today, tomorrow. I have other agendas going on." He said to her.

"But Malachi, I can't tomorrow."

"Why not." He asked angrily.

"I have another doctor's appointment, I was informed about some issues with my pregnancy and need to go back for more tests." She begged, Evan said he had a surprise for her and wouldn't elaborate what it was about, just said to be ready by noon. She made the excuse up about the appointment hoping that he would let them come in a day earlier so they weren't being rushed for time.

"Either you come after your appointment, or you all get here early.. let's say seven in the morning."

She gasped over the phone upset to hear his tone, she was hating him more and more each time that she talked to him or was face to face with him. "Fine, we will be there at seven." She said sounding bummed, hanging up on him.

Evan was at work and had called him to meet her for lunch. She took a shower and threw on a pair of shorts and a loose t-shirt, she was already starting to show and her clothes were feeling tight. She pulled her hair into a ponytail, then left to go meet him at the small diner in town.

"What's up?" He asked, as he pulled a chair out to sit.

"I was hungry and figured that you would be too. I also wanted to ask you something."

The waitress came over to them asking if they were ready to order, both ordering a soup and salad, and a couple glasses of water.

"What did you want to ask me?" Evan asked, handing the waitress their menus.

"I called Malachi asking to come in today instead of tomorrow, and he outright refused. He wants us to be there at seven in the morning, so I wanted to ask you if you would be willing to take us there and wait, kinda be like my bodyguard." Out of a nervous habit, she started playing with her ponytail, hoping that Evan will be there for her.

He placed his elbows on the table and folded his hands, smiling that she asked him to bring her. "Of course I would, why wouldn't I?"

"Because I know that you have to work, it's just that I had gotten a bad vibe from him over the phone, and I'd feel much better if you were there."

He raised an eyebrow "I thought you trusted him?"

"I did, but he's been acting weird lately, I used to be able to confide in him for a lot of things for years, but right now there's something different about him."

The waitress set their waters down and then placed their soup and salads in front of them. Scarlett took a drink of her water and thought about Malachi's tone over the phone. "Something just sounded off with him, and it worries me a little."

"Well, if it makes you feel better, I will take all three of you there, I will wait inside for you. But I'm going to keep my eyes away from the performance, to be honest with you, I really don't want to see what you were suppose to do with these guys. I'd probably be the one being arrested, or hurt knowing what you would have been doing."

"Just be there." She said taking a bite of her salad.

"I'll even ask for some backup if that's what your intending to ask me."

"Could you?" She asked excitedly, then looked around seeing if anyone was listening to them.

He chuckled "Yes, I'll call that jurisdiction and explain the situation, they'll be glad to help out." Scarlett felt relieved, even though she was still nervous about it.
