A few days had gone by since Evan and Scarlett had dinner with his parents. She had been feeling bad that they hadn't had a chance to thank Grandpa yet for his generous givings. Instead of waiting for Evan to get home from work, and had nothing going on for the day, she decided to take a drive to go see Grandpa herself.

She walked into the nursing home and looked around, trying to find him. Not seeing him in the common area with the others she figured he must be in his room. As she approached his room, his door was open and walked in, knocking on the door as she walked in.

"Scarlett, what a wonderful surprise." He said with a grin as he looked up. He was at his table still working on his toothpick airplane.

She walked over to the table, pulling a chair out and sat down. "How are you?"

"Wonderful... let me see your hand." He says lowering his glasses from the top of his head. She held out her hand, knowing that he wanted to see the ring. "Very nice. Evan has good taste."

"He does." She hummed.

"He has good taste in diamonds, and great taste in women. Mainly the one who he has been chasing for years, finally putting a ring on her finger." He says winking at her. "What brings you by?"

She rested her elbows on the table and folded her hands, resting her chin on top of them "I wanted to thank you in person for everything. That letter you wrote, did you seriously write that years ago?"

He smiled, taking his glasses off "I did, Evan and I had a talk that next day after I saved you. He explained to me everything about you, what you were going through, and what his dipshit brother pulled on you, he pretty much told me everything. I thought about the things that you had told me the night before and I just knew that in time you two would be together. I prayed and prayed, and then I started having dreams of the two of you. I didn't know if they were dreams, premonitions, or just me wishing for the two of you to be together. I then acted on those dreams hoping that they would come true, and if they didn't come true then I was still going to try and find you anyways, and give you that one gift, that bank account."

She shook her head, confused.

"When I saw you on that bridge, and saw how young you were. I knew I had to act on it, and save you from whatever was bothering you. When you were in my arms, I saw how beautiful you were, you reminded me a lot of my late wife and I wanted nothing more to make your life be worth living."

"But you didn't know me."

He chuckled, and smiled "I didn't care, something was telling me to help you, to pay it forward. Money is money, and you cannot take it with you to the grave. I'd rather give my money to someone who deserves it, not to someone who just wants it, just to have it."

Scarlett stood up and walked over to him, leaning down she gave him a big hug, squeezing him tight. "Thank you, you didn't have to do that. But I appreciate it, even though it's a bit much."

He waved his hand like it was no big deal, and smiled "It's nothing. Do whatever you would like with it, it's yours." He hugged her back "Just promise me one thing."

"What's that?" She asked while still hugging him tight.

"Promise to give my Evan more babies." He chuckled.

She stood up and gulped "More babies?" She questioned as she sat back down in her chair. "I could, but I don't even know what kind of mother that I would be to the ones that I am already carrying."

He reached across the table and took hold of her hands "I can guarantee that you'll be a good mother, and Evan will be a good father." He smiled "How you grew up, you already vowed that you wouldn't let that happen again, am I right?"
