Chapter 7- Movie Night

At the radio station

Both Naira and Kartik were stacking CDs. Some song was playing, they both were enjoying the tune and were dancing a little bit while working. Then a slow song started, they both looked at each other
K- Wanna dance
Kartik forwarded his hand towards her.
N- Why not
Naira took his hand.

Kartik put his one hand on her shoulder and another on her waist. Naira gasps by his touch and feels different in his arms, but she shrugs off those feelings and dances.
They both danced close to each other, they didn't even realised when Ajay entered with Anjali in the station.

Ajay(A)- Ahm! Ahm!
Kartik and Naira realises their position and unwillingly gets away from each other.
Anjali(An)- Naira I want to have a word with you
N- Ya sure
They both go outside
An- What the hell was that
N- What you mean
An- Yon and Kartik.....really?
N- Nooo....we were just dancing
An- It was more than a dance
N- Imagine whatever you want to
An- I don't have to imagine. I have seen it with my eyes
N(irritated)- Everything is not like what you see.You are making us do the same song again that you people did a year ago in the same function and you think you can win. No Anjali not always
An- You follow my rules else leave the band
N(furious) - You had already thrown out two girls because of your stupid "No love with a treble" law and I'm sure you don't wanna loose me
Naira walks away leaving a furious Anjali behind

After sometime
Naira was on the ground with headphones on and listening music and enjoying herself. Kartik comes dumps his bag and sits beside her. Naira takes out her headphones and faces him
K- I'm sorry Naira be...
N(cutting off)- Hey it's ok.. I don't care about that stupid stuff
Kartik takes out some movie CDs
K- I love to watch movies (like me 😂)
So let's watch movie tonight whichever you want I have them on my laptop
Naira just stared him, and kartik looks at her and says
K- What??
Naira laughs and nods in No
K- What you don't like to see movies
N- Umm....ya
K-why yaar
N- You know it's obvious, in the ending the boy gets the girl , the war is won by the heroes only
K-, So you are predicting endings
N- Yes sort of, ending are predictable
K- Endings are the best part. Come on tonight we'll watch a movie. Please for me
Naira nods
N- Ok if you say so. My dorm at 8 sharp
K- As u say Ms.Tigress
Naira smiles and goes to practice

Naira's dorm
Kartik sets up his laptop . They sit on Naira's bed beside each other. Kartik switches off the lights and watches the movie. When the ending was coming Naira doesn't feel like watching it. So she looks here and there while Kartik was fully engrossed in it. Naira looks at him. Kartik after a minute faces her
K- You are again missing the ending
They both looks towards the screen but then again look towards each other.
Their faces comes close to each other. They were about to kiss, when Naira's dorm mate enters with her friend. Kartik and Naira realises their position and gets back in position.

Dorm mate- The girl is back
K- And I'm out
Kartik takes his stuff and goes out, not even looking towards Naira because of the awkward moment they had.
