Morning Sickness

Eight weeks along. That's the first thought I had as I woke up. The second was much more urgent and I payed more attention to. Get to the fudging bathroom.

I toss the blankets off and stumble into the bathroom and stabilize myself at the toilet before I feel the contents of my stomach toss themselves into the toilet with a burning feeling.

"Love. Are you alright?" A tired Tom says from the doorway. I shake my head before another course finds it's way up.

Tom quickly gets to my side and pulls my hair into a ponytail and gently rubs my back as I let myself purge all the food I've thought of eating in the past day.

"I probably look disgusting." I quietly laugh.

"I think you look more beautiful here than in the most expensive dress and elaborate makeup you've ever worn." Tom says pushing some loose hair back. I smile at him before dry heaving a few times.

"That's not true." I sheepishly reply. Even though Tom compliments me daily and means every word, I only agree after I'm in full makeup.

"Do you think I'm going to marry you just for your pretty face?" He laughs a bit, "If I couldn't love you wholeheartedly when you are at, what you would say if your worst... then loving you at your perceived best means nothing."

"Tom... you are going to make me cry." I say tears welling up in my eyes.

"If you do I'll still love you." Tom kisses my cheek before I hurl again in the toilet. He just continues to rub my back as I make the nauseous feeling fade.

I try to stand on my feet but letting everything in your stomach out doesn't help. I am pulled up by Tom and I shakily go to the counter to wash my mouth out. Tom flushes the toilet as I let out a cough.

"Are you sure you are done?" Tom asks wrapping his arm around my waist as support.

"Yeah I'm sure. The taste is what made me cough." I laugh at his worried state.

"I'm just making sure. I don't want my favorite person to lie to me." He says in a teasing tone and peppers kisses on my neck.

"Let my wash my mouth or I'll kiss you with puke mouth." I say before trying to kiss him and him pulling away, all teasingly.

I get the mouthwash and gurgle it, getting it into the back of my throat. I swish it around my teeth before spitting it into my sink. I grab the cup and repeat the steps with water.

"Now I can kiss you!" I say tickling Tom, who immediately starts laughing.

"Then kiss me and not tickle me!" He says through laughs. I get him back to the bed before kissing him gently.

"Is that better?" I ask sweetly. Tom connects our lips again softly before nodding.

"Much."
