"SURPRISE!"

Maryann seemed to jump ten feet into the air. She turned around and saw us standing there. It's time to present our gifts. Lucy steps forwards.

"Hey, Maryann, to show our appreciation to you, we have made this new outfit for you," she says, holding the dress out in front of her. Maryann looks to her with tears in her eyes.

"Thank . . . Thank you!" she says, as tears drip down her face. She rubs them away, before clicking her fingers. She has changed into the dress and her original outfit hangs on the hanger now. Lucy places it in Maryann's cupboard.

Maryann looks beautiful. It fits perfectly, and the colours compliment her hair. Lucy steps up and releases the bands on her hair, allowing it to hang down on her back. She produces a pink ribbon and quickly braids Maryann's hair, threading the ribbon in.

"Perfect," she says, admiring her handiwork. "Rachel and Louis!"

They step forwards and place the tiara on her head. It looks truly incredible. All that hard work was worth it.

"Mia and Kevin!"

We step forward and place each shoe in front of her, allowing her to step into them. She smiles, and her outfit is now complete.

"Thank you! Thank you, so, so much!" she says, wiping her tears away as she does. "Now, let's get this party started!"

All the Vocaloid Actors stream down from the metal staircase. They start giving Maryann their best wishes. I am crammed in the middle of them. I start breathing heavily, before seeing a hand slip through the barrier. With a familiar coat wrapped around the arm. I grab his hand and he helps me get out of the crowd. He sees my panic and takes me through a door, before any tears escape my eyes.

It was the door to the town. I take multiple gulps of the cool air on my face, and look up into the star-filled sky.  I manage to calm myself and slow my breathing. Eventually, I turn to Kevin.

"Thank you," I say, "How did you know?"

"I remember you had a panic attack when you were six because there was too many people around you."

I think back and remember. All the Vocaloid Actors at the time were crowded together locked in a fierce debate. I can't remember what the topic was, but I remember collapsing, and someone dragging me away from the group, and comforting me in a gentle voice.

"Were you the one who helped me?" I ask.

"Yes," he said. "You looked so helpless and no-one else seemed to notice."

He sighed, and a small cloud of steam escaped his mouth. "I wanted an excuse to get you alone anyway."

"Oh, how so?" I say, before noticing his reddening cheeks. "Hey, is there something you want to tell me?" I ask, gently teasing him, a blush rising on my own cheeks.

He turned to me, and gently took my hands in his. Shivers go up my spine and my cheeks turn crimson.

"You have . . . no idea how much I - I missed you," he admits, faltering at points. "And now you're back . . ."

"Yeah, do you want to make up for missed time?" I ask, squeezing his hands tightly.

"Maybe," he says, with a roguish smile on his face, before he bends down and . . . and kisses me.

I stiffen in shock, barely registering the fact that our lips fit together perfectly. When I finally register what just happened, I deepen the kiss, wrapping my arms around his neck. His hands grip my back, and he lifts me off my feet, despite both of our Vocaloids being the same height.

We only break apart, when we are rudely interrupted by Rachel.

"Oh. My. God!" she shrieks, as she sees us. Kevin places me down, allowing me to walk to Rachel, and punch her in the arm, for interrupting us. Her eyes sparkle, even when the pain causes them to water.

"So, I walk out to nip some drinks, and I see you two embracing," she says, excitement evident in her eyes, which are still sparkling.

"What's it to you?" I ask, still clearly annoyed, but unable to stop a blush rising up to my cheeks.

"The thing is that even me and Louis haven't kissed, you two are moving so quickly," she says, envy clear in her voice.

"Let me resolve that issue, then," Louis says, coming through the door. It's clear he listened to the entire exchange.

"What -" Rachel says, before getting cut off as Louis pulls her in for a kiss. I smirk. Her deep blue eyes widen in shock, before closing. She pulls them closer together, and Louis clasps her tightly. Rachel rises onto her tiptoes, and starts to sway slightly to each side. They separate, and she is so happy.

"Can't annoy me anymore, for kissing Kevin, can you?" I say, the smirk becoming bigger.

She looks slightly ashamed, before a blush rises on her cheek. "I guess not," she says, "I was just jealous!"

We all walk back into the Vocaloid Communion Room and Kevin pushes something into my hands. It feels familiar. I look down and realise it is the same fidget cube my dad bought me. I won't ask how he got his hands on it, I just focus on it to keep my anxiety at bay. Kevin stays by my side.

We manage to make it to the couch, which is thankfully empty. We sit next to each other, and I lean against him, my head on his shoulder. He responds by placing his arm around me, and gently gripping my shoulder.

Despite all the shouting, and the loud music blaring through the speakers, I feel almost . . . peaceful.

I close my eyes and realise how lucky I was. Anyone, and I mean anyone, could have been chosen for the second Vocaloid Actor for Meiko and it was me. I open my eyes, and see the many Vocaloid Actors clustered in small groups. I wonder if they feel the same as me.

I close my eyes once again, and curl up closer to Kevin. I let the music flow through me. And as everyone celebrated around me, I knew my life was finally complete.

A/N I have finally finished Vocaloid Actors! I never thought I could write a full story like this. Expect a sequel in the works, I was thinking of making a trilogy using Vocaloid Actors.
