Erica POV

"So does this make up for the other day?" I ask

I asked Nikki to come out to eat with me so I could try to make up for what happened the other day . I kinda feel bad for leaving her like that .

"This is a good start but we'll see how the rest of the night goes" she says

"I really am sorry about the other night"

"I know .. you can show me just how sorry you are later on tonight" she says with a wink

Maybe this wasn't a good idea after all . I mean technically I'm single but I feel like Cyn and I are trying again . It's kinda confusing

"So what was it that you wanted to talk about the other night?"

"Before you left me all alone at your place?" she says

I roll my eyes "Yes Nikki"

"I wanted to talk about us ."

"Ok and what about us?"

"Well I think it's pretty clear that we like each other right?"

I sigh "Yeah we do"

"I really care about you Erica . You knew how I felt a long time ago and the feelings are even stronger now . I want to be with you .. or at least work towards being in a relationship"

I knew eventually she would want a relationship but I just didn't know it would be right now . Nikki is beautiful and everything I would want in a woman but she's just not Cyn . Cyn is everything I ever wanted and everything that I need . The situation with us is just so complicated.  Technically her and Joe aren't even broken up .. it's just a break. What if she ends up wanting him back ? What if she decides she doesn't want me anymore ? They have a whole kid together .. what if she wants her family to stay together? Fuck I need to stop thinking so much

"Erica .. do you have anything to say?"

"Umm ..."

CYN POV

Joe asked me to come out to eat with him tonight and I agreed to it. We aren't on the best terms but we can at least be cordial with each other . He's really been trying the past few days to make things better and I appreciate the effort .

"So what do you think?" He asks

"It's really nice Joe .. thank you" I say

"I just wanted to show you how much I appreciate you Cyn . I realized I haven't really been showing my love or giving you the attention that you need . The last thing I ever want to do is push you away"

I don't really have anything to say .. I know he means every word but I just don't know how to feel right now .

"I'm tired of this break Cyn . I want us back and I'll do whatever I have to do to fix it"

"Joe .. I appreciate this but I don't know . I just think we need more time"

"More time for what Cyn?"

More time for what ? More time for me to figure out what I'm doing with Erica ? I really don't even know

"Joe I just need time .. I'm just trying to figure things out . Just please respect that"

"I do respect that Cyn but we are a family now . Me , you and Lex . I just want us to be happy again"

"I know Joe . I wanna be happy too but I just think we need more time"

He looks away from me

Now I feel kinda bad .. he did all of this for me and I'm only pushing him away

"Joe" I start to say

"Isn't that Erica over there ?" He says

Erica ?? What ?

I turn to look the way he's looking and that is definitely Erica .. I can't really see who she's sitting with though . The last thing I need is Erica seeing me here with Joe . I know she's gonna assume that it's a date or something more going on . I don't need that .

"We should go speak to her" He says

"No ! Why would we do that?" I say

Even though I'm pretty curious to see who's she's here with I just don't need her jumping to any conclusions about me and Joe without me explaining first .

"Because she's our friend Cyn .. are you okay?"

He's looking at me weird now

"Yes I'm fine . I just don't think we should disturb her" I say

He laughs "Cyn why are you being weird about this ? It won't be the first time I'm around you and your ex . It's cool with me"

"I'm not being weird . I just want to enjoy my food"

"Well I'm gonna go over there and say hi" he says

"Joe please don't" I say

He's already out of his seat and walking over to the table

Erica POV

"Ladies .. what's up?"

I turn to see Joe walking to the table

"Hey .. wow long time no see" I say

He leans in for a hug and I return it

"Yeah it's been a while . Who's this?" He asks as he turn to look at Nikki

"I'm Nikki .. it's nice to meet you" She says

"I see Erica still has great taste in women" he says

"You know me. So what are you doing here?" I say

"I'm here on a date with my women" he says

I immediately realize that he's obviously here with Cyn .

"Your here with Cyn?"

"Cyn?" Ask Nikki

"Yeah she's right over there" he points at their table

"Erica .. are you okay?"

I feel my whole body start to heat up

"I'm good" I say quickly

Why the fuck is she here with him ?? And on a date ?? That really just pissed me the fuck off

"Baby are you sure you good?" Asks Nikki

Oh shit Nikki ... Cyn is here and Nikki is here . I never told Cyn I was still in touch with Nikki and I never told Nikki I was back in touch with Cyn ... This is not gonna go well . What the fuck ? I need Albee here

"Erica?"

"Yeah I'm fine" I say

"Cyn!" He yells across the restaurant and waves her over to our table

I roll my eyes at him and I feel my heart beating faster than ever

I see her walk over towards us and she doesn't look so happy

"Cyn this is Erica's girl Nikki .. Nikki this is my girl Cyn"

"We've met" both Nikki and Cyn say

Cyn looks at me with a look in her eyes I don't think I've ever seen before

"So this is your girl Erica?" She asks

Nikki looked at me like 'You better say yes'

"Umm .."

Fuck .. What am I gonna do ?? Thanks a lot Joe
