All For Nothing (Naruto Fanfic)

Chapter One:
Namiko: 8
Kaito: 14

*Namiko's POV*
"Again!!" Kaito yelled as pushed me to the ground. Irritated, I jumped up and punched his jaw, sending him flying a couple of feet. I quickly made the hand signs for a water jutsu.

"Water Style: Raging Waves!!" I yelled as big waves raced towards Kaito. Kaito simply dodged the attack and walked towards me. I looked up at him as he started grinning, causing me to smile.

"Where'd you learn that one?" He asked. I shrugged. "I remember a guy using it on you once. He really kicked your ass Kaito" I said teasingly as he grabbed me and put me a headlock.

"Hey let gooo" I whined as I immediately just let my body drop to the ground, taking us both to the ground, laughing. Kaito sat up, looking around. I sat up too, and went on high alert. Usually when Kaito stops and immediately checks his surroundings, it means someone is coming or are near us.

All of a sudden, Kaito grabbed me and tossed me towards a tree. I grabbed a branch and swung myself up on it, going higher into the leaves and branches. I already knew the routine. Kaito hated for me to get caught up in any fights. He likes to handle them by himself, although I thought I was more than capable enough of fighting with him.

For the next 10/15 minutes, all I hear is a lot of random voices, justus, and harsh impacts. Then, I hear for Kaito to tell me to run. I immediately jumped from the tree to see ten men standing behind Kaito. I've never seen Kaito so beat up before. He's even went against Orochimaru and came out decent.

"So there she is. The last of the Hashibara clan" a man says. Confused and slightly angry, I look at Kaito. "You don't know what you're talking about!" I yelled angrily.

"Come with us and we'll let your little boyfriend live" another man says. I look at the man bewildered before laughing. The group of men look at me confused. "He's my brother" I said, as I wiped the tears from my eyes.

"Hm" one man says as another goes, "Ohhh so you never told her what happened, huh ? This makes things even more fun" he said as he made the hand signs for a fire jutsu. I brought my left foot back as I put my arms up, preparing myself. I quickly eyed Kaito to see him drop to the ground. He looked dead, and it shook me to my core.

I looked up as the man made the last sign for his jutsu. Kaito was dead, and it was my fault. I couldn't move. As he started to yell the name for the jutsu, I watched as all ten men were struck with a loud, blue light of some sort. All of the men dropped to the ground, dead. I then realized that someone had saved me, but they were probably gonna come for me next.

I watched as the man who killed the group of men walk up to me. He was very tall, but then again I was only 8 so I guess everyone is tall to me. He had white hair that seemed to defy gravity. He also had a mask that covers majority of his face. His hitai-ate signaled that he was from the leaf village.

I backed away as he came closer. "I won't hurt you, I promise" he said as he smiled, although it was covered by his mask. I looked at him. "I'm Hatake Kakashi. I'm a jonin from the leaf village. Do you know what happened here?" he asked as he kneeled in front of me. Again, I just looked at him.

I made a handsign. It seemed that the leaf nin knew what jutsu I was going to do. I also could tell he was partially shocked that I was able to perform it at a young age. "NO! W-"

"Teleportation Jutsu!!"

The crazy thing is, although I can perform the jutsu, I can't necessarily control where it takes me. And it took me to the Land of Snow. Great.

As I walked, I couldn't help but think about Kaito. I missed him a lot already. We were all each other had.

All of a sudden, my eyes started burning. Badly. I dropped to the ground and clenched my face in my hands. A few seconds later, the pain subsided and I stood up and continued walking. But I wonder what those men were talking about. I knew Kaito was secretive, but I hope he wasn't keeping any vital secrets..

I do need to train more, though. I need to get used to people dying around me so that it doesn't affect the way that I fight. I need to be stronger. And I will. With more determination than before, I trekked through the land.
