Cold winds blew against the house, making it creek under it's force. It only lasted for a minute, so the noise alone wasn't enough. The sound of footsteps, the loud voice that wished him farewell, the door swinging shut; non of this stirred the skeleton from his slumber. Expect when his skull throbbed. The pain felt like someone had taken a knife to his skull. A pain he could physically say that it made it to his top 5 least favorite experience. He lean his body to the side, his bed creaking from his movement. Squeezing his eyesockets, he willed the pain to go away. The vague memories of the last reset crashed through his mind; slowly eroding against each other. The rest of the world became detached, all he could concentrate on was the pain rooted deep in his skull. He could barely hear the other monsters chattering outside his home. All he felt, all he knew was the pain of that moment.

why'd ya do it kiddo?

Grunting his teeth, he managed to get out of bed. Something must have gone wrong. It was the only thing he could think of. Making his way to his sentry station, he thought of numerous reason why you had to do a reset. If you had died, a simple load was enough. But a whole reset? You didn't even make it to the core. So why.... ?

did... you change again? please, not again. i... i can't...go through that again...

Reaching the bridge to the Ruin Doors, he slowed his pace. His heavy breaths condense into small puffs of clouds. Soul skipping a beat at the sight of a blue and pink striped sweater and it's owner arguing with a sentient flower.

there you are... your still you...

The mysterious fallen human who had captured his heart. He couldn't place when it was, if it was at the restaurant, when he looked into your soul or even from right at the begining when you held out your hand to him. Falling in love with you was so easy; admitting it was the hard part. A love that hurted him after your betrayal. But even so, he found himself gravitating towards you. The longer he got to know you, the more he fell in love.

"You're an idiot!"

"You already said that. Like about 50 times now."

"Then I'll keep saying it until you get it! Idiot idiot IDIOT!!! You really think that-"

"I don't know. But I had to do something. Anything is better then what could have happened."

"So... feel any different?" You didn't respond. "Of course you don't... figures."

"frisk..." Hearing your name cut through your conversation; you and Flowey looked away from each other. Sans didn't hear the whole discussion, but he got the gist of it. Something wrong did happened on the last run and apparently a reset was necessary. You stared at him with that goofy guilty face of yours. Scratching your head trying to find some excuse for what you did, which only led with you apologizing again and again while bowing your head. Flowey sneered at your action before leaving.

Sans stopped you before your head could fall out. All the apologizing wasn't necessary, just a simple "not gonna happened again" was all he needed. But you didn't say that. You didn't really give him a response. No matter how hard he tried to make you promise. He got nothing. Sans explained that a reset isn't something you should be playing around. That it's properties are unknown and can lead to unexpected consequences. You just ignored it all by walking past him. There it was, that determination of yours. Always doing things on your own. He wanted to scream. Oh how badly he wanted to scream, to shake some sense into you. But seeing your back, seeing you walk away from him... he found himself hugging you instead.

Eyesockets tightly closed shut, his skull buried in the crook of your neck and his arms wrapped above your chest. don't leave... His whole body was desperately screaming as he held on to you. don't push me out... don't leave me...  Once he realized what he had done, he quickly let go and stumbled away. His face burned a bright blue as he stuttered to explained why he did that. Except he didn't even know why. Before he could shortcut his way out, you pulled him into your arms. You held him so closely that he could feel your heart beat against his own chest. With your hand softly petting the back of his skull, his head loosen up from his stiffen surprised state. His eyes dropping, he found himself relaxing as your crisp apple sent draped around him. Wanting to bury deeper into your warmth, he returned your hug.
