IzuMina Week 2019

Day 7-Camping

"So, we're actually going to try this again?" Kaminari said, with just a hint of concern in his voice. He had good enough reason. Ever since they were attacked by the League of Villains during the Summer Camping Trip, doing something like this made quite a few of Class 1-A more than a little hesitant.

"We're not actually 'trying it again', since this is totally different," Kirishima quickly spoke up. "One, this isn't a school thing, and two, the entire class isn't here." He said, confidently.

"The fact that the whole class isn't here doesn't make me feel better," Kaminari said, quickly. Surprisingly, it was Izuku who became the voice of relief for the Electric quirk user.

"The League of Villains has been out of commission for a while," he began. "I'm not saying Villains aren't an issue, but I think any remnants left wouldn't be able to launch the kind of attack like they did. Plus, Kirishima's right. This isn't a school function." Kaminari just nodded, feeling a little better. Enough to tease Izuku.

"You know, Midoriya, never would have expected you to be up for camping that didn't include some training," he said. "You don't really strike me as the 'outdoorsy' kinda dude." To this Izuku kind of shrugged, while looking down to the ground.

"I just thought it'd be a nice change of pace for me." Both Kirishima and Kaminari took a sideways glance to him.

"Are you sure that's the reason, there, Midoriya?" Kirishima joined in. "Not because of who asked you to come?" At this, Izuku's face turned a little red. Luckily, the person in question was with the other girls up ahead, starting to get the campsite set up while the boys were carrying most of the gear with them.

"I-I don't know w-what you're t-talking about, Kirishima," Izuku stuttered. Kirishima and Kaminari just gave a knowing smile as they approached the camp.

"Alright, what have we got left to set up?" Kirishima asked as they set the gear down. It was Mina who answered.

"Well, we've got the set up mostly complete, so I think it's just tent set up and getting the campfire ready," she said, a little winded, but still energetic. "Has anyone decided who's going to get fire wood?" At this, Kirishima and Kaminari again shot each other a look, one not lost on Jiro or Tsu, the other two present.

"Yea," Kaminari started. "We figured we'd stay here and set up the tents, while you and Midoriya go get the fire wood." Izuku's face paled, as he looked wide eyed at Kaminari. If Mina noticed, she didn't let on, as she grabbed Izuku's hand.

"C'mon, Midori," she said, excitedly. "The quicker we do this, we quicker we get s'mores!"

It hadn't taken long to get the tents set up and the campfire going. The night was a little chilly, so everyone had a blanket over their shoulders as they sat around the fire, cooking marshmallows for their s'mores. They were laughing and having a good time. To no surprise to Izuku, Kirishima and Kaminari had found a way to make sure Izuku and Mina were sitting beside each other.

"Ow!" Mina quickly, but quietly, blurted out, as she pulled her hand back in recoil. Izuku immediately jumped into 'Hero' mode.

"Are you okay, Ashido?" he said, pure concern in his voice. She looked over to him, and smiled reassuringly.

"Yea. I'm alright, Midori," she said, a little embarrassed. "Just got a little too close to the fire trying to cook my marshmallow." Without thinking, Izuku offered his hand out.

"Here, let me." His voice was not condescending. Quite the opposite. He just wanted to be helpful. Mina was actually glad it was a little dark, so he couldn't see the lilac tint her cheeks. She handed the stick with the marshmallow to Izuku, who quickly got to work turning it around for the perfect gold look.

"This doesn't hurt you?" she finally asked. Izuku absentmindedly looked at his hands, while still focused on the fire.

"I...I don't really have a lot of feeling in my hands anymore, especially this one." He indicated to his right hand. The hand that had seen more damage than any during his time, with the amount of pain and injury he had caused to himself. His right hand had taken the brunt. Mina looked at him with both worry, and something deeper. Affection. She was continually surprised by the shy boy.

Without thinking, she slid her hand over his arm, tracing over the scars. He stiffened a little, but let out a soft moan of content that only Mina could hear. Her touch felt good.

"You're amazing, Izu," she said, softly. He looked over to her, her black sclera and golden irises creating a magnificent display of otherworldly shine between the moonlight and the campfire. It was almost hypnotizing. And Izuku's own emerald eyes enraptured Mina. They sat there for a moment longer, not realizing the others were looking at them. Kirishima and Kaminari had huge grins on their faces, but refused to say anything to ruin the moment.

Switching the stick in his hands to his left, Izuku allowed Mina to intertwine their fingers. His heart was racing, but there was something about the moment right now that took away his normally stuttering, mumbling self.

"I can feel this, though," he said, indicating their interlocked fingers. "And it feels nice." He smiled, and she returned it before they both started to lean in.

Faces around the campfire soon turned from smiling, to blushing and mouths agape as their two curly haired companions kissed. Somehow, without making a sound, they quickly vacated the area to to give the two some privacy.

And the entire time, Izuku and Mina didn't even notice.
