Melissa managed to drag her sister away from Rory at half passed nine to begin the walk home. Tilly protested against it but Rory agreed with Melissa. Outnumbered, Tilly said her goodbyes and succumbed to the orders of her sister who got a kick out of telling others what to do.

"Your friends are nice," Melissa said, linking arms with Tilly.

"They're great. And Rory is an excellent singer. Better than I expected," Tilly added.

"Sure, but I'm more confused about why you didn't tell me you knew the owner of the place."

Tilly's muscles tensed. "What?"

"I met him tonight. He's so kind. Brendon Urie, right?"

"I'm not sure why you're asking me this."

"Don't play dumb. You knew him and you didn't tell me! He said that you two had a falling out but he wouldn't tell me what happened. Care to explain?" Melissa asked.

"No."

"Keeping secrets isn't very nice, you know."

"Asking invasive questions isn't very nice either," Tilly retorted, taking her arm out of her sister's.

"Why are you being like this? It's not that big of a deal."

"I said I didn't wanna talk about it so leave it. Don't be annoying." Tilly took out a cigarette and her lighter.

The two walked the rest of the distance in silence. Tilly wasn't going to tell her sister anything she didn't want to. There was so much that Melissa already knew and Tilly missed having some privacy. If Melissa found out about her relationship with Brendon, she would never let Tilly live it down and that would be conflicting with Tilly's desire to forget their relationship ever happened.

Brendon on the other hand couldn't keep his mind off of Tilly, or the memory of her at least. He knew he needed to distract himself so he didn't fall into the habit of writing depressing songs about her again. He focused on getting the new shipment of liquor into the club and rehearsing the entertainment acts.

Rory showed up on time for this rehearsal, serving as a pleasant but suspicious surprise to everyone. He rehearsed a new song he'd written and took Brendon and Spencer's constructive criticism quite well.

"Did that girl you were waiting for ever show up?" Brendon asked when Rory was finished. "You sang really well last night."

"Thanks and she loved it too. She's quite the woman," Rory sighed.

"Should I say it or are you?" Pete asked, leaning back in his seat.

"Say what?"

"The girl he invited was Tilly."
