Dylan laid in bed sleeping when he heard a knock and a faint voice talking with other voices. Dylan crept down the stairs and listened to the old lady speaking to two officers at the door. "Good Morning Ma'am have you seen a small boy around 5'3, light green eyes, and white-blond hair wandering around here?" The old lady stood there looking a little worried but managed stayed calm. Dylan stared at the lady hoping she would not rat him out. " No, officers I haven't seen a boy wandering around town with those physical features." The officers eyed her down to see if she was telling the truth. Once they were sure she was telling the truth they turned and proceeded to leave. But then they stopped and looked at her again. " Well, ma'am if you do see him let us know cause he ran away from home and his parents are worried sick." The lady nodded and bid them farewell. " Good luck on finding that poor child officers I wish I knew where he was." Relieve overtook Dylan for a minute but then dread took over when he heard the lady start to climb the stairs. He quickly walked to his room and pulled the covers over him. He pretended to be sleeping when the lady stopped at the door of his room. She looked at him sleeping soundly and brushed his hair back with her hand. Dylan slowly opened his eyes and gazed at the lady with fear. "Young man. You have some explaining to do." Dylan's heart stopped for a second. ".....but first let's eat breakfast." Dylan knew he had to tell her the truth; with the smile she had given him it reassured him she was on his side. "So... Child tell me why you left home." " Ma'am I think I should leave I'll only bring you problems. Thank you for your hospitality." He turned to leave but she stopped him. " No, child you're going to tell me why you left your home and came all the way over here." Seeing there was no escape, Dylan told her every thing. He told her how his parents weren't his real parents and how he was being treated at home. She stepped in front of him and held his head to her chest. Her warmness surrounding him, he felt at peace. The warmness brought the things of the past, they came flowing out of him in the form of tears. She patted his head and helped soothe his pain. "There, there child let all your tears out they don't have to be held in any longer." He remembered how his mother used to comfort him like she did. Once he had no more tears and his throat was sore from the held in screams, she let go of him. "Well child... You can stay with me if you'd like and you can help me in the bakery cause I need some assistance around the kitchen and you need a job." "T-thank you Ma'am. I promise to not cause you any trouble." " I know you won't boy cause if you do I'll turn you in to the police." Dylan looked at her in shock. "I'm kidding boy can't you take a joke? Enough of this crying, I want to see that smile." Dylan trembled his lips at first but eventually smiled. She glowed with his smile but her expression changed quickly. " Oh. I haven't even told you my name. Well since those officers said your name was Dylan I'll call you that. My name is Ellie Green but you can call me Aunt Green." " Nice to meet you Aunt Green-" ~ Oh no! .... I had forgotten about school!~ Dylan paused and widened his eyes. Aunt Green started to get worried when Dylan automatically froze up. "What's the matter boy?" Dylan snapped out of his thoughts." Aunt Green is there a high school around here?" Aunt Green held her hand to her chin and started thinking of the nearest high schools around her house. " Oh! Yes, there's one near the shops called Whirl-something, not sure what it's called though. Why boy?" Dylan's face lightened up. " Aunt Green the school is named Whirlwind High School and that's where I had been attending classes. I was suspended for a few days and tomorrow is when I'll be going back to school." "So you'll be attending school then. Good for you, Boy. Oh... But you don't have supplies or clothes for school now do you?" Dylan lowered his head and whispered a faint "no". Aunt Green raised his chin with her hand. " Well we're going to have to do some shopping now, don't we?" Dylan and Aunt Green went to the shops and bought new supplies and clothes for Dylan. By the time they got back home they were exhausted. They went to bed and woke up early the next day to go through their daily lives and that will now be their routines from this day to the future.
