"It's not what it looks like." I say.
"Oh really." Her voice is pissed. "Cause it looks like you just slept with my brother after I asked you not to."
"Okay but." I begin.
"No! What the hell? Why would you do this to me? I asked you to do one thing. Not date my brother! And what do you do? Date my brother." She screams.
"Cassandra please listen to me." I beg.
"Just. Get out of my house!" She walks away.
"Cass please." I start to follow her but Mark stops me.
"Just let her breathe." He says. "I'll take you home."
I look around. I see my little sisters. My family is still here.
"No. I'll go with my parents." I avoid eye contact.
"Okay, well call me later?" He asks.
I nod, but still don't look at him. I walk away to my sisters.
"Skyler, why are you crying?" Laura asks.
I wipe my face. "I'm okay. I'm just sad. My best friend and I are in a fight." I say.
"Oh." Our parents arrive. "Skyler is fighting with Cassandra." Laura spits out.
"I'm sorry honey." My mother says. She than notices my wardrobe. "Why are you in a mans shirt? Where are your clothes?"
"My costume got itchy so Mark offered me this." I lie. I really hate doing that. But my dad is right there and Mark is in the house. That would not end well.
"Hmm." My mother says. She doesn't believe me. But my dad seems to be buying it.
"Well let's go girls." Dad says. We walk outside and get in the car.
We start our drive home. I look out the window the whole way thinking. Thinking about Mark, Cass. What Mark and I did.
We get home and I go immediately to my room. I throw off the shirt and shorts and get into my regular pajamas.
I jump into bed and text Cass.
'Talk to me please.' No answer. She reads it though.
Than I decide to text Mark. I lost my best friend but I don't want to lose my boyfriend.
'Hey can we talk?'
'Yes of course what's up?'
'I need to do it in person. Pick me up at my house at 10 tomorrow morning.'
'☺️'
I put my phone down and close my eyes. I soon drift to sleep.
Hey I know this is a really short chapter but I wanted to update. Anyway please vote and I'll try and update soon. This week is spring break so I have a lot of free time.
