'In Which She Calls A Spade A Spade'
"How do you know when to hold?" I asked sipping on my fruity drink. I had my chin on Alex's shoulder and I was peering at his cards.
He mindlessly ran a hand through my hair. "It's all about risk, Bella. " He replied. "Are you willing to risk what you have, for something better?" I giggled like a school girl when he tugged on my hair. "Would you like to play?"
I quickly shook my head. "I don't want to waste your money."
He quickly maneuvered me into his lap, making my drink slosh a bit at the sides. "Risk, Bella. " His mouth was at my ear and I felt a familiar tug in my stomach.
"Are you thinking of escaping?" Valarian asked in a calm tone.
I blinked my eyes, forcing my mind back to the situation at hand. I was currently in a nice sized suite, decorated in white. I was sat on the king sized bed and Valarian was sitting in a desk chair directly in front of me.
"I won't escape." I said with a sigh. Alessandro was right, Valarian was very kind. I would not be responsible for his death.
"You can relax. I will not hurt you."
I smiled. "Thanks."
Valarian smiled back. "If I did, Alessandro would not be pleased."
I pursed my lips. "Comforting."
Satisfied with our little talk, Valarian grabbed the TV remote off of the bed and flicked through some of the channels. "You have a preference?" He asked me with a raised eyebrow.
"No. Whatever you want is fine."
As he flicked through more channels, I felt the pain on the back of my head. When my hand came in contact with wetness, I swore. "I need to shower." I blurted out, feeling my cheeks warm.
"I will escort you." Valarian said with a solemn expression.
I narrowed my eyes. The bathroom was literally a couple of steps away. "I will not try and escape Valarian." I said, using his name for the first time.
"I will escort you." He repeated.
I groaned. "Fine. If you must. What will I wear?"
Now, Valarian blushed. "There will be a robe in the bathroom. It is all I can offer."
Damn it, the man was sweet. "Thank you." I mumbled, rising off of the bed and walking towards the bathroom. I ignored Valarian's presence as he followed me. I walked into the bathroom and then turned to face Valarian. "I'm not going to try to escape Valarian."
He smiled. "Val. And that is exactly what a person who is going to try and escape would say."
Rolling my eyes, I closed the door in his face.
The shower was expensive and difficult to operate. It took me about five minutes to get it on. But when I did, Heaven.
The water rained down, with the perfect amount of pressure. I stripped out of my clothes and stepped under the spray immediately relaxing.
"I'm not usually so... loose." I mumbled as Alex stared into my eyes. It was hard to believe I had met him yesterday and he already had so much control over me. It was harder to believe that today was my last day with him.
"I don't doubt it." he said, in that sensual way he talked. "I won't take advantage of you, Bella." he whispered.
Oh, how much I wanted him to take advantage of me.
