The shadow deposited us a few feet above the damp, dirt-floor of the jungle, and Baelfire and I tumbled out of the shadow's grasp, landing with an "oof" sound.
Groaning, I stood up and looked around. We seemed to be in some kind of camp, and I could feel the many eyes that were watching us. As if on cue, several more lost ones emerged from the dark forest, their faces covered by their hoods.
One stood out, however. This one was not wearing a cloak, but a dark green v-neck tunic that was rolled up just above his elbows. On each of his wrists, he had a black leather cuff, and his legs were donned with tall dark brown boots.
As for his physical appearance, he was definitely not unattractive, but I would never admit that. He had unruly sandy brown hair and eyes that were the color of evergreen trees. When he approached me, my breath hitched and I felt my body stiffen.
"Well, you're not a boy." he said, raising his eyebrows at me.
"It doesn't take a genius to figure that out." I quipped, my upper lip curling.
The boy chuckled darkly, leaning towards my face. "Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Peter, Peter Pan. Have we met before? You look familiar."
Rolling my eyes, I stepped away from him. "I don't have to tell you anything."
A shadow crossed over his face as I denied him my name. "You'll tell me if you want to live."
I mentally debated whether or not I should tell him. He'd certainly figure it out later, and from the stories I'd heard about him, he didn't mess around when he wanted something. "I'm Lily. But some people call me Tiger Lily."
"Oh yeah? Why's that, love?" he questioned, smirking.
"Well, you'll just have to find out, won't you?"
He considered this for a moment, his eyebrows still raised, before he turned to Baelfire, who was just not recovering from our crash landing on the island. "And you are?"
Baelfire looked up at him, wiping his hands on his trousers. "My name's Baelfire."
An unknown expression crossed Pan's face, leaving me briefly confused. Did he know Baelfire somehow?
Turning back to me, Pan began, "Now I know why you look familiar, " he slowly circled me, an amused expression on his face, "It seems Hook got busy, yeah? You have his unruly hair and eyes, but the skin tone, that's a little different. Who's your mother, love?"
He was referring to the fact that I was somewhat more tan than my father. My mother belonged to an Indian tribe, thus making me slightly darker than my father. However, I did inherit his deep blue eyes and black hair.
"Once again, I'm not telling you." I sneered. It was my personal, private business and he had no reason to know it.
He leaned toward my face, an eyebrow quirked and a vicious smile playing on his lips. "Once again, you'll tell me if you want to live. We'll get to that later though, " he turned, addressing the blond boy who had been on the Jolly Roger, "Felix, take them back to the camp."
Felix roughly grabbed grabbed Baelfire by the collar of his shirt while another boy grabbed me. Anger bubbled inside of me at the sight of them handling Baelfire so inhumanely.
"Hey, let him go you bilge rat!" I snarled, "He didn't do anything to deserve this!"
Pan's upperlip curled as he addressed Felix once more. "Make sure that one's gagged, " he said, jutting his thumb to me.
Pan disappeared in a cloud of black smoke, leaving Baelfire and me to be led back to this so-called camp. So far, Pan hadn't done anything particularly bad, but I had a feeling his shallow threats were just the tip of the iceberg with him, and it made me unsettled.
