Kate The Chaser: Proxy
The fence clinged to the metal bars that helped it stand upright as Kate jumped from the top. A sign was posted on the other side of the fence, big black and red bolded letters reading a clear deterrent. WARNING NO TRESPASSING.
Carl—Kate's friend—helped her to her feet. She looked up at him with a warm smile.
Kate had beautiful raven black hair that went down to her chest, and she wore a maroon colored tank top and black skinny jeans, paired with worn boots. She was about 5'4", but very fit. Kate was 14, almost 15, but was in no way average.
She took her backpack off her back and zipped it open. Snacks, a sketchbook, a paint chipped flashlight, batteries, a camera, and a bunch of tapes lay scattered in the bottom of her bag. She pulled her flashlight out and turned it on, shining it right at Carl.
Carl was 16 he was about 6'1", very tall, slim, nice looking man, his brown hair was slicked back neatly, he wore a plain white tee shirt, black joggers and boots. Carl also pulled his flashlight from his letter bag, Kate giggling as he did so.
Oakside Park.
This park was known for being haunted; gastly figures were claimed to be seen, and homicides were reported every other week. The last time this park had any actual society importance was in the early 1900s.
The Kullman Mine, responsible for digging up coal for the nearby town. The mine was soon bought by out, and, weeks later, the miners soon left, disappearing from existence, and to this day the mine is abandoned, but the mine is all the way on the other side of the park, roughly 24 miles North from where they were.
Kate and Carl started walking in the haunted woods, shining their flashlights around when suddenly something caught Carl's eye; posted on a tree was a piece of paper. Kate looked over at Carl, who was taking the paper off the tree's trunk. Carl studied the paper, in black sticky substance read out a warning. LEAVE ME ALONE.
"What is that?" Kate asked, her voice soft.
Carl shrugged in confusion. Kate shone her light further into the woods. There was another page one a big yellow tank. Kate ran quickly to it and ripped it off the metal.
"I found another one!" Kate called out as she waved the page in the air above her head.
"What does it say?!" Carl called back out, starting to walk towards her.
"It says 'run away' in a capital letters!" Kate said, right as Carl was right in front of her, Carl kindly took the paper from her, taking a look at it.
Boom... Kate looks at Carl.
Boom... Carl is running away from Kate.
Boom... Kate screams.
Alarm.
Kate slammed her hand on the alarm clock that sat on her night stand, and rolled back over, throwing her blanket over her head. She groaned, knowing she couldn't sleep any longer. Kate got up and sat at the edge of her bed. Her hair was in knots and her facial expression showed she was not ready for the day.
Kate raised her hands above her head, stretching her body out a bit, which was followed by a yawn. After her stretch, she pressed the button on her alarm clock that changed it to a radio station, and was immediately hearing the local EDM station. Kate smiled as her favorite song played; Toxin by Rezz. She turned the volume up all the way.
Kate then got off her bed, and went to the hall bathroom. She turned the light on and looked at herself in the mirror, blinking away the drowsiness. She wore a baggy white cotton shirt and black underwear. Kate ruffled her hair and huffed, not impressed by the mess.
