Harakauna, a place where animals live. Well, of course, except for Mel.

Mel had moved in and lived with Yvette for three years and no special incidents happened. She decided to live there after all the incidents happened years ago: Destroyed orbs of magic, Te'ijal sent her evil brother, Gyendal to the Demon Realm, and even defeated Mordred Darkthrop, the master sorcerer who tried to reborn again. Now all the incidents had come to an end and, for Mel, it's a nice moment to have a long rest.

It all started in a cosy weekend morning, when the majestic eye of heaven rose from the horizon, blazed the whole plateau of Harakauna with its glistening rays. Birds woke up from their deep slumbers, perching on tree branches and their melodious song as a wake-up call. The floras opened up their colourful petals, showing off the grandeur of their appearance to their relatives. Mel, as usual, got herself ready and stepped out from her house to enjoy the breath-taking beauty of the village scenery.

"G'morning, Mel. Had a niceful sleep recently?" greeted Mr.Croak, the mayor of the town.

"Good morning, Mr. Mayor. I'm fine, thank you," she gave the frog a friendly smile. "Just strolling around while taking some fresh morning air."

"All right then, if you excuse me. Enjoy your day."

"Okay. Goodbye, Mr. Mayor," said Mel as she watched the mayor hopped away, continuing his work of the day.

Mel was in the village square when she tripped on a banana peel and fell on the ground.

"Oof!" It followed by a "Thump!"

"Ha ha! Hi, Mel. Is everything okay?" came out a raspy voice.

"Jack," Mel muttered. She stood up, patted away the smear on her clothes and turned at the one who pranked her.

"So, are you free now?" asked Jack, the joke monkey. He hopped around and messed Mel's well-brushed long-black hair and looked for morning bugs for him to feed on.

"Yep. Why?" Mel burrowed and pushed him away and combed her hair again.

"I'm just wondering that maybe we can climb the oak tree," suggested Jack while looking attentively at her.

Mel was about to accept the monkey's offer as she thought about what Yvette said before she went out to have fun.

"Behave yourself and not to do foolish things, Mel."

"I would love to, But maybe next time," she turned down the offer. "Sorry."

The monkey looked crestfallen, "Oh well. I'll go and climb the tree myself. See ya!" and so Jack hopped off while making some annoying noises, off the way to the forest.

Mel was having her lunch in her house when someone knocked hastily on the door.

"I wonder who might that be," mused Mel.

"Oh hello, Mel dear. Sorry for interrupting your lunch hour. But it's just that... have you seen my Jack lately? He said that he wanted to play with you," asked Jack's mother wearily.

"Is something going on?" puzzled Mel.

"He has not come back home during the lunch. I wondered you might know where he is."

Just then a kite (a kind of bird, not the thing with a string attached to) landed beside the Jack's mother and transformed into an elf girl.

"Yvette! Have you found my Jack?" asked the monkey.

"I did. He was lying under the big oak tree," said the shapeshifter. "It seems that he's hurt."

"then it's no time to lose. Let's go," and so Mel accompanied Yvette and the monkey to look for Jack. When they reached the tree, Jack was groaning. A broken branch laid motionlessly beside him. It's clear that he fell from the tall tree.

"It seems that Jack has a bone fracture," said Yvette after had a brief check on the monkey.

Long story short. In the end, Jack's mother carried his son back to his house for medical treatment and thanked Yvette and Mel for all the troubles they had.

Back at Mel's house, she sat on her bed and recalled all the events that happened over the day. She thought the mama monkey praised her and rewarded her some gold pennies. Mel, too, felt delighted.
