There's a phrase that said: "Nobody's perfect". Every human makes mistake in their lifetime, now and then, so do I. There was one time I got myself into a big trouble because of my forgetfulness and my foolishness.
It was a Sunday night, and I was hypnotised by the thrilling computer games. Although the school exam was at the very corner I had not touched my books yet. Though my parents nagged me to stop wasting my precious time to do those meaningless thing and start doing revision instead, I took their word like some flies flying and buzzing over my ears. Around midnight, in a heap of exhaustion and I off to sleep.
Time flew, and I had slept merely six hours but it seemed six short minutes to me. My mother walked into my room and woke me up. She stared at me angrily, and I looked back at her blankly. It was then she roared: "Do you know what time is it now, young man?" And when I noticed the clock was pointing at 6:30, I realised that I had school that day.
So I rushed to the washroom to get myself ready briskly. Then I ran back to my room and put on my school uniform, which buttoned in a wrong position, and packed my bag, then jump downstairs. I took the food container and the water bottle on the kitchen table which had prepared by my mother daily, then boosted out from the house without saying goodbye to my family. When I reached the bus stop, which was just a stone's throw away from my house, the bus had just gone away. And that made me to run all the way to the school.
When I reached the school gate, the school bell had rung, and I was panting heavily that my lungs were about to come out of my mouth. When I walked into the school campus, I wondered why it was so quiet in there. Then I finally realised, again, that the school exam commenced on that day. Without another thought, I rushed to my classroom. The teacher saw me standing at the doorway and gestured me to go back to my seat without marking me late. When I sat down, I noticed that the exam had started.
During the exam, I spent most of the allocated time staring at the exam paper. My mind went blank, I didn't do any revisions before the exam. I was just sitting there, trying to juice some answers, while eating the tip of my pen, and getting hysteric. When I was about to write an answer to the answer sheet, the examiner had asked to stop writing. In the end, I handed on a blank piece of exam paper.
I was a week after the exam had came to an end, and I got a big fat oval 0 on my paper. I wanted to hide this unsatisfactory result from my parents. Unfortunately, they somehow knew about my condition and I was caught red-handed. There were flocks of butterflies fluttering in my stomach as I was standing in front of my parents in the living room, ready to be punished. Long story short, the court was dismissed, and I was banned from playing any electronic games until I got some improvement in my academics.
It was the most unforgettable moment in my lifetime. A moment of forgetfulness and foolishness.
