The chirping of the birds, the eye blinding light from the sun and the faint music playing from the pack house were the sounds Daniel had grown up to wake up at. But today, everything was utterly silent. He sat up, and everything was dark. He could smell the fresh smell of earth, and that meant it was going to rain. He switched on the light, and all his mothers paintings came into his view. Most of them were black outlines of wolves.
Those were the only things left in the memory of his dead mother. His father married another women and Jihoon ended up being his step brother. Not that he regretted it, he loved his brother but not that woman. She was a human, but he didn't hate her nor did he liked her. He knew it was not her fault, he was more angry at his father.
His father was the beta, and Daniel was most likely to become the future beta. He was aware of his strength, he was always proud of it. Whereas Jihoon, his wolf was weak, he was more of a human with his sweet and caring personality.
Daniel had to start his beta training, it was time. He had to become the beta, even he wouldn't for like another 10 years, but still he needed the training. For that, he had to stop schooling. Not that he had a problem, but still he liked going to school. He was used to it, and he even liked few classes, especially music and dance.
It wouldn't matter, he was alone anyways, after his mum's death, the status of his physical and mental state was loneliness. He didn't mingle with other pack members much, he preferred staying home or school. Humans at school were nothing but annoying, especially that unique kid- Ong Seongwoo. The only people he was comfortable with were his best friend Jaehwan and his brother Jihoon.
He sighed, tomorrow will be the last he'd be attending the school, there was no one to miss but if anything he'd miss it'd be the mint chocolate thick shake at their school cafe.
Overall, he was not even close to happiness with his life. It was plain boring. Maybe, it would change when he meets his mate. He'd turn 18 next year, he could find his mate. For now, he was excited for the training camp he'd be joining for the next 4 years.
