I sit scared as I was about to receive a prison tattoo. The music note behind my ear. I can't scream or we will be caught. I feel the pin touch behind me ear. Alicia counts down, I feel the pin break my skin. I bit my tongue as the pain seizes through my body. I feel the music note being engraved in my skin. She pulls out the pin. Hides the ink in her mattress and says. Welcome killjoy. I sleep that night. I was so tired from the pain. I had breakfast. Prison breakfast. Scrambled eggs, a biscuit, gritz, bacon, and milk. Not half bad for a prison meal. I go back to my cell. It is stormy. I nap for a while. I then decide to draw. I have some chips and then put them back. I write a letter to my parents, I include the drawing.

My court date was next week. Everybody says jail is a horrible place. Sure it's dangerous and you are always on lockdown, it's tolerable. I get to sleep whenever I want. I get to read. Draw. Anything. I started meeting with my lawyer every couple days. My parents got me a really good one. We re going to claim that the police station was corrupt and were trying to frame me. I was feeling trapped and scared, so I fled. I might actually get away with it.

My court date came. The officer woke me up, I was given some clothes that my parents had sent. I get to court and see my parents in the audience. I see almost everyone I know. I start to tear up. As court starts, my lawyer is merciless in defending me.

I have high hopes as I walk back in the prison. I am about to be uncuffed when Lana, a girl from a rival gang, comes up from the side and stabs me with a sharpened toothbrush! I feel the pain and then go unconscious.
