"Ruhi why don't you understand that the ones who you think love you, are the ones going against you!" He yells. I walk back. I can't take anymore of this.
"Stop it!! You don't even know half the life I've lived. These people who are against me are...
"Ruhi di you have an exam tomorrow, do some reading at least na!" I just ignored Raj's bickering of me not studying and continued gazing the blue sky and the beautiful shapes the clouds were forming.
"Yaar chote, you know I always score good grades then why are you forcing me to study for this test? " I question him curiously.
He scratches the back of his neck and starts looking here and there. I eye him suspiciously because this is exactly what he does everytime he's done something wrong and doesn't want bhabhi to know.
"Do don't tell mom please" He blurts out, "I happen to fail the recent English exam and forget about mathematics" I start laughing loudly. This kid is nuts.
"You're safe this time kid but I want something in return" I reply. He side eyes me "I want you to go write two huge ass essays and solve at least two math worksheets and submit it to me in the next 3 hours" His jaw hung low but didn't argue and looked at his watch and ran.
I chuckle and lay down on the grass again. "Good punishment" I hear Kiera bhabhi tell. She sits down beside me.
I let out a giggle "I hope you don't mind" I say hesitantly "nah not at all. He'll learn next time" She says and I sigh out. "Anyways I came to tell you that maa was looking for you" She says. I quickly get up "oh I'll go then" I say and walk towards the house
I find maa sitting on the couch "maa you were looking for me? " I ask her ask as I sit down next to her. "Ha, how's your exam preparation for tomorrow's exam going on?" She asks to which I mentally roll my eyes. Why is everyone acting like my life depends on this one exam."haa maa it's going good" I quickly reply not wanting her to wait long, She nods her head "chai bana doon maa" I ask immediately after my answer. "Yea sure".
Did I introduce who I am. Sorry about that, I'm Ruhi. The unofficial member of the Vardhan family. The past scares me because of how people treat me. This family has loved me as their own and I'm in Gratitude. I'm finishing off my final eligibility exam and then I'll be off to work soon and I'll be able to live on my own not wanting to burden anyone.
"Ruhi!! Bring in tea for rahul" Kiera bhabhi yells from the living room. Oh bhai is here. Rahul vardhan who I call bhai is the epitome of professional for me. He has treated me not less than a sister and cared for me like I belong here. I quickly strain the tea into three glasses and walk in the living room to give it to them. The phone in the living room starts ringing and look up at maa who nods her head towards the phone telling me to pick it up. The person on the other side of the phone sounded familiar
"hello, may I know who I'm speaking to?" I ask politely "I'm Sanjeevini Malhotra, could you hand over the phone to Rahul" She says.
I obey and hand the phone to bhai and mouth 'Sanjeevini' to him and he nods smiling at me. I've heard that name quite a lot of times.
"Hey sanju, what! You're coming to India?! When?"...... " Oh a week later. Yeah yeah see you later " Wow bhai is ecstatic about this visit.
"Maa Sanjeevini along with the family will be coming here after a week." Bhai informs maa and she smiles and then looks towards me "get three rooms ready, i want them Well decorated and clean" I nod and walk towards my room which is situated in attic.
It's a spacious attic and I've actually decorated it beautifully. There's a queen sized bed in the middle of the room and behind it are huge windows. I go and sit on the study table and open a book and randomly read for tomorrow.
