You had been sitting on your bed with your boyfriend, (c/n), and had been working on your homework for an aggravating amount of time. It was Friday night, and the two of you had made plans to stay in and watch a movie, but you were very adamant on finishing your homework before you relaxed. You wanted to have the entire weekend to yourselves without and stress, and (c/n) knew better than to argue with you.
It was seven o'clock when (y/m) came into your room. As soon as she saw (c/n), who you hadn't noticed was watching you intently with a look of pure admiration on his face, she smiled.
"(c/n), it's so good to see you! How have you been?" she asked him enthusiastically. They continued with their small talk, but you had zoned out, thinking how sweet it was that he made such an effort to get along and get to know your family. It showed how much he really loved you.
You were brought out of your reverie when (c/n) playfully nudged your shoulder. "Sorry, what?" you sheepishly asked with a small grin on your face. He motioned towards (y/m), who was still standing in the doorway, shaking her head with a smile on her face.
"Your dad and I are going out to dinner with the neighbors. We'll be back in a few hours, don't cause too much trouble, if you know what I mean," she joked, narrowing her eyes and pointing a finger at you. Her false sternness was then replaced with a cheesy grin and a wink. She really had the nerve to wink at you guys!
"Mom!" you groaned, feeling your cheeks heat in embarrassment. You hated blushing. You reached across (c/n)'s lap and picked up a pillow, chucking it at (y/m), but you only managed to hit the door as it swung shut.
"I'm still waiting for the day I won't blush so much around you," you muttered, placing your face in your hands. The blush on your cheeks had yet to fade, and you hoped the cool skin on your hands would help.
You felt (c/n)'s hands prying your own from your face. He smiled warmly at you, "I think it's cute," he admitted, and then leaned in to kiss you. You only gave him a small peck, and then returned to your work. You still had a lot to do, and as much as you wanted to make out with (c/n), you also wanted to make sure you could do so without having to worry about the endless mountain of schoolwork you had yet to do. In order to resist temptations, you turned your back on him and kept writing shit down that you desperately hoped was correct.
