It was around 6:50pm when my mum dropped me off at Ella's house, she gave me a small talk telling me that if I need to come home early to just call her and she'll pick me up straight away, if not then she'll just collect me at 10pm. I just agreed with her, I was way too excited about going over to someone else's house. I walked up to Ella's front door, knocked a couple of times and patiently waited for someone to open the door, I gently rocked back on my heel and checked the time on my phone.

'Mia, hi come in.' Ella said as she swung the door open obviously quite excited herself.

'Hey Ella.' I beamed as I walked into her house, my eye scanning my surroundings. 'Nice place.' I commented.

'Thanks, here come into the living room I have everything set up, Josh should be here soon.' She rambled and walked towards the living room. I followed her, sighing softly as she mentioned Josh's name. We went into the living room and I put my backpack down, I was slightly confused as to why there was a huge bowl of popcorn on the table as well as blankets and pillows thrown onto the massive sofa.

'I-I thought we were-' I started but got cut off as a males voice beamed through the room.

'Ella are your friends here yet? Can we start this movie night?' A boy emerged from a door at the other side of the room, he had a mop of brown curly hair and deep brown eyes. I just looked between the two of them, very confused and a bit too socially awkward to question it.

'Oh hi, you must be Mia, I'm George. Ella's boyfriend. We're in the same year but you've probably not seen me around, I tend to be at the opposite side of the library to you. Ella's told me a lot about you. It's nice to meet you.' George continued once he had noticed me, he pulled me in for a hug which I awkwardly accepted, I swear I stopped breathing for a moment, his hug was that tight. Embrace over and I looked up at him and smiled.

'Its nice to meet you too George, urm but I'm not here for a movie night.' I confessed and bit down on my bottom lip. 'Are we not doing the project Ella?' I questioned innocently as I turned to look at Ella who had turned red.

'Urm, well I thought that you could do with a group of friends so I wanted to just hang out.' She explained. 'I also invited Josh because maybe he could see how much of a nice person you are. Maybe he will stop bullying you. But seriously, don't worry about the project, I can do it. It's fair on you. Everyone always makes you do all the work in group projects and they claim it as their own work. Well not this time.'

I'm not going to lie I was close to tearing up, no one had really done anything nice for me like this, well ever. Seeing someone go out of their way to try make my life that bit better made me realise that maybe the world isn't such a bad place, blushing slightly I replied to Ella.

'I-I guess I can let you get away with this' I joked. 'So what're we watching?' I beamed, feeling much more comfortable and confident around both George and Ella.

'Hmmm, I think a horror movie of some sort.' Ella mused as she got herself comfy on the sofa. George and I also joined her and the three of us had decided that we would all watch 'the conjuring.' George started to set the DVD up and the three of us were just talking and laughing, a bit too much might I add about anything and everything. The doorbell rang and Ella got up to go and get it. I felt myself suddenly getting tense and nervous. George took Ella's spot next to me.

'Mia, you're such a nice girl. Please don't let what he says to you bring you down because none of it is true okay?' George tried to reassure me, he gently took my hand. 'Ella and I are so happy that we got to see the non-quiet side of you because you're honestly one of the kindest, funniest and sarcastic people I know.'

I pulled George into a hug, I really needed one to be honest. 'Thank you George. You have no idea how much this means to me.' I whispered and pulled out of the hug when I heard voices getting closer. I placed my hands in my lap and nervously chewed the inside of my mouth.

'Just be the funny sarcastic girl you are, no matter who is here.' George mumbled before Josh and Ella were in earshot.

'Ditching the work for a movie night? What rebels.' Josh commented as he walked in front of the sofa. 'Hey nerd.' He spat at me as he sat down beside me.

'Hey dickhead.' I mumbled, well I thought I mumbled but it actually came out louder than expected. Everyone pretty much gasped which made me feel sort of on a high, I felt powerful. They hadn't at all expected me to say anything, let alone calling him a dickhead and their reactions made me want to come out with more comments. I just kept a poker face and studied the tv screen.

'You've spent one day with these people. What have they done to you. You've changed.' Josh marvelled.
