Y/n POV
I sat on the hard wood floor of my bedroom, my hands scraping the sides of the dresser drawers pulling out handfuls of clothing. Stuffing my clothing articles into some of the various moving boxes that were sprawled around my nearly empty bedroom."Mom says hurry up!" A voice from downstairs yelled up to me, my sister Camille.
"Almost ready!" I yelled back, hurrying to gather the remainder of my belongings before taping the boxes shut. As I filled the last box I walked to the door, sticking my head out.
"Can I get some help putting the boxes in the van?" I asked down the stairs expectingly a soft 'ugh' and footsteps was the response my twelve year old sister gave as she dragged herself up the stairs.
"Thanks Milla." I said as I stepped back into my room and grabbed a box while Milla did the same.
It took us four trips and a lot of complaints from the distraught twelve year old before we were done. Placing the last box in the van I walked back upstairs, back to my room. Sighing I looked around the familiar lavender walls, the color faded from areas where posters and shelves had covered them.
It was strange seeing it empty, after all it had been my room for the entirety of my eighteen years on this planet. All of my memories were in this room, in this house. And now we were leaving, the thought left a bitter taste in my mouth. I didn't want to go, didn't want to leave California, my friends, my life. But mom said moving to uncle Billy's house would give us a chance to reconnect with family, especially since dads gone, staying with his brother would be good for us. I hoped she was right.
Sadly I turned from my room, shutting my door, I headed for the van. Mom and Milla were already there waiting for me. I locked the front door and hopped into the van.
"You ready?" Mom asked excitedly. Her brown eyes shined but the smile on her tanned face showed her sadness.
"As I'll ever be" I said sadly as she started up the van and began the long drive to Washington.
Hope you liked it
