"I don't understand why she has won't talk to me." I collapsed onto the bed, staring up at the ceiling. "She comes back after supposedly being dead for hundreds of years and now I cannot even get an explanation of what happened." I closed my eyes and sighed. "I just, I just want answers."

Soft hands gently cupped my face and long hair tickled my nose as a gentle voice attempted to soothe me. "Maybe she just needs time, Rhys. You don't know what she has been through. This is probably as difficult for her as it for you. You've seen the scars on her arms, her hands and the hardness of her eyes. She's been through something." I opened my eyes and looked at my mate.

"I've been through things. We have all been through things. I just want to know how the hell my little sister is still alive." I sat up quickly, turning toward Feyre, "She was dead. Dead, Feyre. Her head was displayed in the Spring Court, her wings ripped from her body and saved as some pathetic, sick trophy. Dead. And now she's here, sleeping in a room in our home. It's-it's" the words escaped me as Feyre wrapped her arms around my waist.

"Impossible. I know." She murmured into my chest. "But it's a blessing, it's a gift. And I think you just need to give her time before she explains the mystery." She leaned back and met my eyes. "Whatever evil she is warning us of, it seems real and I think that's what we need to focus on. Our home is in danger. Our world is in danger, Rhys. That should be our focus."

I kissed the top of her head and leaned back against the wall. "I know, I know. I'm sorry. I'm just frustrated."

"And you're allowed to be. For a little bit. But then we need to worry about how we're going to convince the other courts to believe this story." She let go of me and sat down on the bed. I met her gaze and straightened my pose.

"That will certainly be a difficult task."

Two days. That's how long it took for replies from the other courts. Two days. That's how long I successfully managed to avoid talking to anyone. I stood at the window of the bedroom they had given me, braiding my long hair behind my back gazing out at the sunshine. My head started to hurt, and I heard a faint whisper go through my head Come home it said. I smiled and focused on a response: soon. I promise, soon. My head throbbed harder and I closed my eyes. It was hard. Communicating to another world. But it was possible. For me. Probably not for others. But I wasn't like others. I stared down at my hands and allowed the glamour I kept up to fade away. A double banded, oval diamond was revealed on my left hand. I rubbed my finger over it gently, my heart hurting, yearning to go home. A knock on my door had me snapping the glamour into place, hiding the ring.

"Kiara..." a voice said cautiously, "we are leaving soon." I opened the door to reveal Mor, dressed glamorously in a black revealing gown fashioned with a gold belt. Her blonde hair flowed over shoulders and her eyes brightened when she saw me. "Are you ready."

"I am." She looked down at my outfit skeptically. I followed her gaze, my outfit was similar to what I wore the day I arrived. Black on black with my tall leather boots. "Yes?" I asked with slight annoyance.

"Nothing, it's just these meetings are usually an excuse to dress up, show off, you know?" She asked gesturing toward her own body.

I rolled my eyes, "I'll dress up when the world isn't ending."

She smirked, "I like the attitude you've developed, my cousin." I couldn't help but smile at her.

"Thanks." She smiled back at me and we walked together down the hall. It felt easier to talk to her than to Rhys. She did nothing wrong. She was not who I had an issue with. It wasn't fair to punish her. I decided to try more with her. We always got along before. She was always so nice to me, always complimenting me and always wanting to spend time with me. She always included me even though I was so much younger and so much smaller. We made our way outside where the others stood waiting.

Rhys briefly met my gaze "can you winnow?"

I nodded slowly, "yes but not if I don't know where we're going."

Mor turned to me and reached out her hand, "I got you cuz." She shot me a wink and I couldn't help but smile. I noticed Rhys tense and look away. I grabbed Mor's hand and we were gone.

I opened my eyes and it took me a moment to adjust to the light streaming in. I let go of Mor's hand and took in my surroundings. Dawn Court. That's where we were. It was beautiful. We appeared to be among the clouds with sun sparkling everywhere. The view I could see from the windows was lush and green everywhere. I follow the group silently as we enter a large room where others have already arrived. Rhys says some greetings, shakes some hands but I'm not paying attention. I'm watching as Helion turn around to greet us, I want to see his reaction. It's almost slow motion as he turns. His eyes survey our group, and then meet mine. His smile fades, shock fills his face. I offer a smile in return, even a small wave. He shakes his head in disbelief before returning his face to a fake smile and turning to my brother. "Rhysand, why is it that you always seem to be the one calling these meetings?"

Rhys shrugs, "trouble just always seems to find me, Helion." The other High Lords chuckle as everyone sits. I notice a few stare at me. Wondering who this new female in the Night Court envoy is. Rhys clears his throat. "Some of you might notice an additional member to the Night Court at the moment" gesturing towards me. "As hard as it may be to believe what I am about to say, it is true." A pause and curiosity has compelled everyone. They are all staring at me. Helion is giving me a knowing look, I reach into his mind.

Does he know about my part in this?

I glare at him he knows nothing, don't worry. I'm not planning on sharing that story with him.

I see his eyes squint, he looks towards Rhys who has begun speaking again. "This is my sister. This is Kiara. She apparently has not been dead like previously thought. She is very much alive and she comes with bad news. Very bad news."

All eyes widen, shock, panic, even some fear. I see bodies tense, hand linger towards weapons. Rhys waves his hand, telling me to address the group. I take a deep breath, I close my eyes. And I stand up.
