It's Time To Go

Kihyun groans, rubbing his thirty-nine and a half week belly as he made his morning tea and feels his baby kick wildly, "Kyunie, ease up a little will you? I think my insides are bruising."

"Is he kicking again? Or is it the Braxton Hicks?" Shownu asks as he comes up beside Kihyun to make his coffee.

"Kind of both, they're not intense but they're like mild cramps right now," Kihyun makes a face, "Plus he's kicking me and he made me gassy all night long along with hiccuping."

Shownu hums, cupping the belly and getting his face close enough to speak to his son, "Changkyun, take it easy on your mother, we know you're close to getting here but your mother needs at least a small break from the kicking," the baby punches lazily at his hands, his feet were at the top of the bump now, meaning he will be here any moment now. Shownu smiles, "Stubborn already, like mommy."

Kihyun giggles, running his hands through Shownu's hair as his husband kisses his belly before standing back up straight, "You tossed and turned all night too."

"I can't help it! This kid makes me want to pee every hour and moves when I'm finally comfortable! Not to mention I'm fighting these Braxton Hicks!"

Shownu chuckles, "You know you never snored either until here recently."

Kihyun narrows his eyes, his jaw set, "Are you just trying to piss me off at this point?"

"I'm not trying to make you mad," Shownu laughs, "You're just hormonal and pushing through your last few days of pregnancy."

"Yeah and you're walking on thin ice with my mood swings," Kihyun grits, rubbing his belly when he feels his belly tighten and slightly cramp up, "I'm getting my ass back in bed. I need to edit photos today but I'm pretty sure any day now he'll be here."

"Get some rest, when you feel up to editing the photos you can edit them," Shownu kisses him, walking out of the kitchen to go shower, taking his coffee with him.

By later that evening, Kihyun was experiencing more intense and painful Braxton Hick contractions, making it hard for him to cook dinner and even get comfortable. He sat in his recliner, rubbing his belly and wrinkling his nose slightly as the baby barely kicks and moves. He was positioned more lower in Kihyun's uterus, his head was putting a lot of pressure in Kihyun's hips. Honestly, he felt as if he was sitting on the baby's head from how much pressure he felt. Kihyun always has his legs spread now for that fear of crushing his baby's head.

"Ki, you coming to bed?" Shownu whispers, standing by the recliner as Kihyun hums.

"Yeah, I'm just trying to wait until this passes," Kihyun groans, "They're getting more intense."

"Labor doesn't actually start until your water breaks, these are just fake contractions to prepare your body for the real deal."

"Yeah, they just feel like when I ovulate and cramp, only a little bit worse," Kihyun sighs, "Help me."

He holds his arms out, Shownu instantly pulling him out of his chair but gently. His husband had no trouble when it came to upper body strength and lifting things. Kihyun holds his lower back as he waddled down the hall and to their room, where he immediately grabs the four pillows on the floor and throws them on the bed. He sleeps with five pillows, one for his head and the other four are placed around his body for comfort.

Once Shownu helps him get comfortable with the pillows, he throws the blanket over his legs, knowing Kihyun gets hot in the middle of the night and will always kick their shared blanket off of him and Shownu. He has his own thin blanket he just places on his legs that he can pull up any time. Shownu crawls in bed, kissing Kihyun before kissing the belly, "Good night little man, go easy on mom tonight okay?"
