"Godammit Enoch!" Rose O'Conner screamed as she slammed her wrinkled fists into the aging wooden dresser of Enoch's room.
"I didn't mean to! I swear I never wanted to kill it!" Enoch cried in fear and anguish.
"Well I don't CARE if you didn't mean to! She's dead isn't she?? and there's nothing you can do about it!" His mother cried as her voice echoed through the building. "And I don't want to hear another peep out of you for the next two days! You are grounded young man!"
Enoch sauntered over to his bed where the dead family cat lied. He had ventured outside to find the cat, for he had noticed it had been gone. However it was too late. A great eagle had swooped down and grabbed the feline, grievously injuring it. As it flew with the cat in its claws, Enoch watched in horror as the bird dropped his pet onto the hard pavement. It was instantly killed, Enoch scooped up its deceased body and brought it to his parents, who, typically blamed him for this misfortune. The blond haired boy sat on his bed, without hope, just yearning to make things better.
He scooped up the body, and cradled it in his arms. The tabby's blood spilled out of its shell of a body onto Enoch's crisp white shirt, soiling it completely. The boys teats wet the cats hair and rotting flesh. He placed his chubby hand onto the creature's chest, as a sort of final goodbye. As he motioned to place the corpse on the floor, he felt a quiver... a quiver of a heart. The cats heart had started beating. He started at it with confusion and perplexity. Had this animal just awakened itself from the dead? Had it been brought back to life? Enoch set the cat onto the floor, and willed it to get up. The feline arose, and plodded around on its little hairy paws.
Had Enoch O'Conner just reanimated his dead cat?? Or what miracle allowed this to happen? Had it been they boy? Or something else? Well, whatever it was, it was time to find out, but this time on a bigger subject.
