We were sat watching TV a couple hours later when the door bell rang.
"This is probably them.... they'll want to know who's moved in" Steve said as i got up to make my way to the door, i took a deep breath and opened the door with a welcoming smile.
"Hi" i said sweetly looking at the two new-comers.
"Oh hi!" A pretty petite woman with dark hair smiled back, she was holding hands with a handsome man who i recognised as Delfino! "Im Katerina Delfino and this is my husband Marco.... we live across the street. We just thought we'd stop by and introduce ourselves and welcome you to the neighbourhood" she said with a wide smile and handed me a bottle of wine.
"Oh my god! Thats so nice of you! Im Diana Bishop" i introduced myself "Would you like to come in? I could open this wine" i asked stepping aside to let them through.
"Jack?" I called through to where Steve was still sat watching TV casually, i saw him lean back on the sofa acting like he had no idea who was here.
"Yeah babe?" He replied standing up and walking towards us.
"We have visitors!" I walked over to him smiling "our first visitors in our new home!" I said clinging to his arm acting excited "this is Katerina and Marco Delfino. They're our neighbours from across the street"
"Oh hey, im Jack" Steve smiled and held out his hand to Marco first then Katerina.
"Its nice to meet you, its nice to see a young couple around here" Marco said smiling at us "you'll soon realise we're the youngest ones around here"
"Oh Marco we have to invite them over for dinner! It'll be so nice to have people our own age over for dinner" Katerina said to her husband looking so excited at the idea.
"Of course, it'd be our pleasure to host for the evening"
"That would be lovely! It'll be nice to have a friend around here. We moved here for Jacks work and i dont know anyone.... maybe you could show me around town?" I asked Katerina with a hopeful smile.
"I would love that! Is tomorrow too soon? Im heading to town for some much needed pampering, i can get you booked in as well and then we can grab lunch"
"Tomorrow sounds perfect! You don't mind do you babe?" I asked looking up at Steve, i wasnt sure if we were supposed to be anywhere tomorrow or not.
"Of course not. You girls should go enjoy yourselves, i need to go into the office for a few hours anyway" he replied as his hand rubbed my lower back.
"Let me go and get some glasses for this wine... i'll be right back" i said handing the bottle of wine to Steve as he led the Delfino's into the living room.
They stayed for a couple of hours as we drank the wine and then opened up some beers. They asked so many questions but were clever in how they asked, if we weren't aware of who they were we probably wouldn't have even realised!
"Soooo, any plans for babies? I mean you guys are newly married and so in love! look at the two of you!" Katerina asked suddenly beaming her huge smile at us.
"Hopefully yeah, i mean we have this big house...." i started to say "its kinda the next step to take. Right baby?"
"Yeah" Steve smiled looking nervous all of a sudden, i placed my hand on his knee and chuckled "Relax will you, its not gonna happen tomorrow!"
"Haha!" Steve rolled his eyes at me.
"Im still trying to get this one to agree to babies! He keeps telling me we will have a baby when the time is right.... but its been 5 years and no baby"
"Aww Marco come on! Give the lady a baby" i giggled leaning into Steve trying my best to act a little tipsy.
"I suppose I've made you wait long enough my love, hmmm?" He asked his wife who nodded quickly and kissed him "do you mean it??"
"Why not!" He laughed loudly and took a mouthful of his beer.
"You're not gonna make me wait five years right?...." i asked Steve and he smiled down at me.
"Of course not sweetheart! We can practise tonight if you want" he nuzzled his face into my neck and i giggled like a love sick idiot.
"Jackkkk! We have guests quit it"
"Im sorry but i cant seem to keep my hands of my hot wife"
"We should head home anyway, it was lovely meeting you both! Diana i cant wait for tomorrow! I'll come get you at 9am" Katerina said happily as she stood with her husband.
"Im looking forward to it".
We walked them out and said goodnight, once we were alone we let out a sigh of relief and went to go sit back on the sofa.
"Well she seems to really wanna be your friend! Good job" Steve smiled at me.
"She seems lovely, i think shes lonely. Marco probably leaves her alone most of the time"
"Yeah looks that way. Well at least they seem like they'rep willing to get to know us. I want you to take Buck tomorrow, i don't want you going off alone"
"I'll try my best but what if she has her own driver??"
"Don't worry about that i'll sort that out"
"Okay, well im gonna go take a shower and head to bed"
"Okay, i'll check that everything's locked up down here and the alarms are set. I'll be up in a minute".
When i checked my phone i had a message from Bucky, seeing his name made me smile.
BB: I miss you so much Doll!!
Y/N: You only saw me a couple hours ago ;)
BB: i know but i still miss you!
Y/N: I miss you too! Hopefully i'll see you in the morning.
BB: Yeah i heard. I heard it all! I hate hearing you like that with him!
Y/N: Just remind yourself who actually gets to have me. Steve and i are just playing our parts, they need to believe its real
BB: i know, doesn't mean i have to like it!
Y/N: i gotta go baby, i'll see you tomorrow xx
