Ed woke up sometime later, still on the floor. He slowly got up, noticing the pill box on the floor, open with its contents spilling out. Ed grabbed one of the pills and took it. There was no tea drinking or hesitation before taking the pill. The feeling took over as Ed readied himself. Other than the feeling, nothing happened. Ed came to the conclusion that knowing Oswald was alive put a stop to his hallucinations of Oswald. He then picked up the paper, dreading what might be in the article.
The mayor entered his office again, a nice, shiny plaque said "Mayor Cobblepot" on it. It was good not to be dead, especially in his case . Ivy had found him and taken care of him, she then let him go back to being the mayor when he was in a more stable condition. Oswald didn't tell anyone that Ed had shot him, he knew Ed would have to return to being his Chief of Staff. He had told the press he would continue work on Monday and asked his employees to start again at that time if they could, but he requested Ed came to the office no matter what.
Oswald sat in his chair in his office, doing work. He acutely heard the door open and glanced up. The mayor's eyes landed on Ed, who looked like he hadn't slept in a long time. Ed cleared his throat and opened his mouth to say something.
"Sit down." The sudden words from the lethal mayor in front of him startled Ed. Ed obeyed the command with startling ease. Ed opened his mouth to speak again and beat the mayor's interruption. "I'm sorry Oswald, I missed you a lot." The Penguin's hard gaze softened. He simply looked at Ed, then sighed.
"Mr. Nygma, nothing happened between you and I right after the.. dock incident. Understand?" Ed understood, he had always understood.
