"Girls!"

I sprang up from my bed and wildly looked around to search for the source of the screech.

I noticed the chief maid standing at the doorway, a wide grin on her face and a bulky bags draped on her hand.

The others woke up excitedly. However, I returned back, snuggling into my pillows to get a little more sleep.

Not a second later, I felt freezing cold water being splashed onto my face.

Letting out a strangled scream, I jumped out of bed, falling butt-first onto the cold hard floor in the process.

I glared at the person in front of me. The person being a certain irritating, smirking maid chief.

I stood up in my drenched clothes. She shoved a bag into my hands. "Get changed. And be presentable". She turned to the others. "And that goes to all of you". She adds before leaving the room.

"You guys are going too?" I ask Amy and Fay, noticing the bags in their hands.

They rolled their eyes. "Yes, but as audience. Not presenters". Said Fay.

"Besides, we need to keep a constant eye on you so you don't mess up". Amy whispers into my ear, matter of factly.

----

"Finally". I muttered.

Amy and Fay were the best friends ever. I didn't know what I'd be without them. The last two hours was spent trying to fit me into the soft and smooth ball gown, doing my hair and working on my face.

I trudged over to the mirror and gasped. I couldn't take my eyes off the girl in the mirror. She was... beautiful.

My eyes were lined in black (don't get me wrong, it wasn't eyeliner, instead lined delicately with coal) and my lips were rosy (not by lipstick, a kind of mixture from rose petals).

Even the necklace and earrings were breath taking.

Fay and Amy looked cool too

Fay and Amy looked cool too. They looked like they were on fire. They both wore identical red gowns that accentuated their striking green eyes and blazing red hair. Their hairs were pulled into buns. In one word, they looked stunning.

Everyone was ready, eyeing each other with awe and admiration. The door swung open and the room sobered down.

The chief maid, wearing a black gown and her blonde hair braided onto one shoulder, entered the room and eyed each of us proudly.

"Good". She said. "Okay girls, let's go to the ball and show the ladies and gentlemen what we are". She spun around and walked out of the room.

We formed a line behind her and followed her path. For my security, Amy stood in front of me while Fay stood behind me.

Our chins held high, she folded our fingers gently in front of us and sashayed towards the ball room.

Let's just hope this all goes smoothly and according to plan.

But boy was I wrong.
