Chapter 9

Maria’s POV

I talked Tony into driving me to Tays house which Vic is at. “Just stay with me tonight don’t go home.” Tony says “I can’t I do have school tomorrow and plus my car is at my dad’s. Even if he lets me drive maybe I can talk him out thinking I was with you.” Tony just shakes his head “So you don’t think papas is going approve of me” he says with a smile. I can’t help but smile at him when we pull up to Tays house Tony turns off the car and moves over to me and gives me a kiss. I never have ever felt like this before. When we get off I walk into Tays house and I see her and Vic watching some movie. “Maria” I see Tay get out of Vic embrace. “Maria your dad is really really mad I think maybe the guys should go home and you call your dad.” I really don’t want to say bye to Tony. “I just don’t know why she doesn’t stay with me.” Tony tells Vic they went into the kitchen leaving me and Tay by ourselves. “Tony have you thought out this relationship with Maria? She is really young compared to you when we were 17 we were out getting drunk. Are you sure you really want to try things out with her?” I’m hiding behind the wall “Vic I really am liking her I haven’t felt this way in a long time I know she really young, but I am I’m happy. I haven’t been happy in a while.” Tony tells Vic “I know Tony I just don’t want you to get hurt and the band have to pick up everything she left behind.” “Ok Vic that’s why you stayed the night with Tay last night?” I go into the kitchen where Tony and Vic are talking to each other “Hey Tony can you go fix something for Tay in the living room.” Tony looks at me and walks out the kitchen “I should go too.” Vic says to me “No I want to talk to you. I’m not going to hurt him Vic I promise. I know I’m young but he makes me happy my mom was my age when she fell in love with my dad. I promise you on everything I won’t cheat on him or anything. Plus he hasn’t even ask me to be his girlfriend, but if he does I won’t do anything to him. I think we have to worry more about him hurting me.” Vic looks me dead in the eye “Maria he won’t hurt you I promise you. I can tell it different with you and trust me he will ask you sooner than you think to be his girlfriend trust me. Hey I’m sorry I said all those things about you.” Vic walks over to me and gives me a hug. He just a little bit more taller than me. I hear Tony clear his throat “So this is why you wanted me out of here so you could make the moves on my lady” Tony tells Vic laughing. “Woah Woah Mr. Perry she was the one who wanted to be alone with me” Vic backs away with his hands in the air. “Hey now I didn’t want to be alone with Vic and plus when did I become your “Lady” Mr. Perry nobody informed me on this.” I say to Tony, Tony rubs the back of his neck “Well I was hoping you would become my lady or girlfriend whatever you want to call it, right now.” I look at Tony with the biggest smile and wrap my arms around his neck “So I’m guessing that a yes.” He whispers in my ear. “Well duh who would say no to you?” I kiss his neck. Tony kisses my lips his lips and my move in sync with each other “Ok Tony we need leave…” Vic is still standing in the kitchen waiting for Tony. “You better go Tony I have to talk to my dad.” “Maria I don’t want to leave. What if your dad does something to you? I can’t just leave you here.” “Just hide in my room” Tay says as she walks in. “We could” Vic joins in. “Maria can we?” Tony asks me. “Please just don’t make to much noise, I don’t want my dad to hear you.” Tony and Vic walk off to Tays room, “Want me to call your dad?” Tay asks me. “Yeah I guess he going to freak on me.” I can already hear my dad yelling at me. “When he gets angry he blacks out and hits me I don’t want Tony to do anything stupid. Tay calls my dad and he says he close by and for her to have the door ready for when comes. It’s been the longest 3 minutes of my life, and I can hear my dad’s truck. He slams the door. Push Tay away from the door “Where is the whore at?” my dad yells at top of his lungs. “Papi please stop yelling. Please your scaring me.” I yell at my dad. “Maria don’t tell me what to do I am your father. Ben came over last night and showed me the picture of the monster your were with last night. Why can’t you just do things right Maria be smart marry Ben and have happy life with him.” “Dad Ben hits me. Tony isn’t a monster I stayed with him last night and I never been treat better before by any guy in my life not even you have ever treat me like that.” I can see my dad’s face is red from the angrier” Well Maria sometimes dumb little girls need to get hit.” I feel a fist go in my face and I fall to the floor everything is black. I can hear Tay start to cry “Maria! Tio she bleeding Maria Oh My God. Maria are you ok?” I am up aren’t I? Just then I hear crazy footsteps. “No Tony don’t.” Tay yells at him “Tony stop!” Vic yells.

Tony POV

Me and Vic are in Tays room she has all kinds of pictures of her and Maria on the wall. “They were so cute when they were little. Huh?” Vic asks me “They sure were they been best friends since they were babies.” Maria was the cutest little girl and her and Tay were and still are the best of friends. “So Vic you and Tay?” Vic looks down “She a cool girl Tony she really nice and I like her a lot. She made me laugh so much last night.”  I look at Vic “Tony shut up, but Hey maybe we can all double date all together.” “Vic I really do like her you know.” Vic looks around Tays room “Ya Tony I know.” Vic smiles at me. I can hear the truck come up I can her Maria dad call her a whore. I feel angry run up my whole body, “Tony no you need leave her and her dad to talk.” I can hear her dad call me a monster and her  she tells her dad she happy with me and that Ben hits here at this point I am throwing around all kinds of shit in Tays room. I just want to beat his face into the ground and just then I hear her dad yell loud and clear at Maria sometimes girls like you need get hit. Me and Vic then hear Tay start to cry I black out and run down the stairs I see Maria on the ground with Tay kneeing at her side there blood everywhere from Maria face. I can see her dad laughing. I push him “Oh look it’s the monster Nice to meet I’m that whores father or at least I was.” I start to bang his head against the wall punching him over and over again. I can just see red I never been this angry before I want to kill him. “Tony Please stop Tony” I know its Maria I can feel her hand around on my arm “Tony please stop. Tony stop.” Her dads on the ground “You’re lucky she making me stop because if I wasn’t for her you would be dead. Dead, you hear me.” He is knocked out on the ground. “I’m calling the cops, he is going to jail this time Maria.” Tay runs in the kitchen to get her phone. I look at Maria I can see the black eye already forming “Let’s go get you cleaned up Maria. Come on.” I can’t believe she looks like this “Tony please promise me something right here right now.” I just look at her “If we ever have kids you won’t hit them ever, or me. No matter how mad you get at me or them promise me Tony promise me.” “Maria I would never touch you or own kids which we wouldn’t have for a long time I promise you I will never bring you pain like this.” I kiss her eye she jumps back a little “Ow Tony it still hurts a little.” She laughs. I carry her into the rest room put her on the sink. I clean off her face, her arms, her legs I rub her scars on her legs and kiss them. Just then we hear Tay at the door “Maria hey baby girl the cops are here. They want to talk to you and see if you want to press charges on your dad.”

Maria POV

Tonight been crazy from Tony asking me to be his girlfriend, from my dad beating the crap out of me, from Tony knocking the crap out of my dad, and now the cops are taking pictures of me and all of my bruises. “Why do you have to take pictures of her?” Tony angry I didn’t want him to leave the room when this was going on. The cops looks at Tony “Sir we have to for the court so they will know that this has happen to her.” Tony looks down at the ground his fist are crunch. “Sir and he hit you first right?” The cop looks at him and shakes his head at him for him to say yes. “Yes sir he did.” The cop then looks at me “Is he your boyfriend?” “Yes he is.” “Well sweetie you have a good guy if someone would of done this to my girlfriend I would of killed the guy. Your dad is lucky he still alive. How long has he been hitting you for.” The cop looks at me with worried eyes. “Since I was eight. Can you believe I thought this was normal I thought all little girls got hit by their dads?”
