"ORDER NUMBER 55 IS READY FOR PICKUP!"

"Here's your food guys. I hope you enjoy your lunch." She sets the food across the table to their desired customers and gives them a final bow before trekking to the other side of her portion of the restaurant and Satsuke bumps her with her hips. "Fuckin' look at you! Doing your job and crap."

"Here's your food sir. I hope you enjoy your lunch." I give the same shpeal and then turn to Satsuki, her big brown eye batting at me. "Shut up. At least I'm doing my job unlike you. I'm just glad you're over your fucking hangover."

She blows a raspberry and waves her hand in indifference. "Lucky for you, Caleb's banned me from drinking for the rest of my life. Only this time, he's really serious. Who knows, maybe we will be like an old married couple."

"RETRO!" The hair on the back of my neck just flies up as I turn towards Yahui who's sprinting towards me. I immediately start backing up and shout back at Yahui, "Stand back! I still have food!" Skidding, he comes to a full stop and says, "That can wait! Look!" Shoving his phone in my face. I set the tray down on the counter and take it in my hand. The screen was illuminated by a single tweet, the account being Kanagawa_OFFICIAL and the tweet reading; "Yo, I was told the best food is at Sukiyaki-ya, I'm heading there this week!" I stared at the screen, not believing what I was seeing.

"Kamyrin shouted us out?"

"Yes! I can't believe it! We've never gotten this much business. I thought he was just a small-time artist but clearly not!"

"Or these could just be the people who live in California..." I pause. "You know what? Never mind, I'll let you have your wishful thinking." I smile, making sure Yahui knew that I was in his corner but on the inside, my stomach was churning. Why was it though? I actually ate breakfast this morning, I didn't eat anything weird yesterday?

And my leg's burning like a bitch.

"Huh?" I say out loud, not realizing that Dane was looking at me and she smirks. "What? Not happy your club friend shouted us out?"

"No, idiot," I sneer, grabbing the next plate on the counter and balancing it. "My leg's burning and I dunno why. I put cream on it so something's gonna happen."

"Your shot leg?" I nod again as I pick up the second plate and sigh. "I can't really tell what's gonna happen but it's gonna be something bad. "

"Mhm, mhm, mhm...what would we lovely folks dow without the superstitious pains of Retro's right leg?"

"Shut it!" I hiss again, but can't help the smile on my face from growing. "What time is it, anyway?"

"Uh..." she leans over to peak at the clock and takes a moment before looking back at me with a smile. "Fifteen minutes until your break. You should probably get back to work before Yahui makes you give it up. Especially with the amount of traffic we've got going on here."

"Yeah, you right." I pick back up the trays I was carrying before and finally making my way to table five with their food, still piping hot and they smile at me before turning back to face each other. The restaurant was bustling, more than it ever was since I had been working here, but then again, I've only been here for five months, and finally convinced Satsuki to come to join me after three months and with her bank account completely empty.

"Here sweetheart, you can have my napkin," I dig around in my pocket before extending my hand with a conglomerate of paper napkins in my hand and extended it to the tiny baby in their toddler seat. It reaches out, soy sauce still covering their entire face, but with new hand-eye coordination, they finally get a proper grip and the mother laughs at me. "He's just a messy eater, but thank you."
