Alder bellowed through the leather strap in his mouth. The chains holding his limbs down were pulled taut, and tears streamed down his face. His head hit the table like a sledgehammer, again and again, putting dents in the smooth silver metal.
The bio-techs has laid his chest open, implanting the tenth of twenty important synthetic organs. Explanations for what each one did were given before the surgeries were started, but they had gone in one of Alder's ears and out the other.
He damn sure regretted that.
