The night passed and Steven wakes at roughly 8 am. "Gooooooood morn'n everyone!" Steven exclaims as he leaps gracefully out of bed heading down the stairs. Pearl and Amethyst are making breakfast for Steven. On Saturday's the other Crystal Gems prepare their own special breakfast for him called the "together breakfast" and they share it together (hints the name). "Together breakfast! Together breakfast!" Steven sings dancing to the kitchen. "Now Steven, Garnet is...ehh..Out on a mission right now..I'm sorry but she is going to miss breakfast today.." Pearl lies. "Aww man! Come on guys! We can wait for her.." Steven says with a kind heart. Pearl places the platter of food down on the table."Not sure I can wait much longer Steven, it looks pretttttyy tastyy." Amethyst says licking her lips. She reaches in to snag a piece from the platter but Pearl swats at Amethysts hand. "Ow!" She screams. Pearl rolls her eyes "No amethyst! Save some for Steven and me.."
"And Garnet!" Steven says hopefully.
"About this mission..It May take a little while to complete..And Garnet may not be back for a while.."
"No kidding!" Steven says disappointedly. Steven sits down at the table and starts severing himself breakfast.
Amethyst cocks her head as she pulls out a chair for herself. "What even is this mission and why hasn't she told me or Steven about it? Plus didn't all those corrupted gems turn back?" As Steven swallows he looks up from his plate and stares at Pearl. He too is finding this all a little sketchy. Pearl didn't think this far ahead. "Your right..It's not a mission..But..She um...Didn't tell you because..She..Is planning your surprise birthday party Steven!!" Steven's eyes widen and he begins to smile. "Really!? It's not even my birthday!" He says excitedly. Amethyst, not being totally convinced, responds "okaayyy.". She doesn't feel like digging too deep into this. "So have you thought about calling her back?" Amethyst says changing the topic. Pearl blushes. She hadn't thought about it because she was worried about the whole Garnet situation. "No." She replys simply.
"Not at all?"
"Maybe a little." Pearl blushes.
The doorbell rings interrupting the conversation.
"STOP EVERYONE STOP!" Steven yells.
"It's Connie! She can have together breakfast with us today!" Steven runs to the door and opens it. Amethyst continues eating with no consideration.
"Hi Steven! What's going on?" Connie says with a smile on her face. "Pearl has a crush!" Amethyst says mocking Pearl. "I do not!" Pearl snaps back. Steven stares at amethyst taking a big gulp of the food on her plate. "Amethyst I told you to wait for Connie!" Steven says angrily.
"Wait for me?"
"Yeah, we just started having some together breakfast, would you like any?" Steven says lightheartedly.
Connie continues walking into the kitchen "Umm..sure".
After getting Connie a plate of food and a place to sit she goes on and asks
"So...Who is this crush?" Pearl's cheeks flush a paled green-blue color. "It's okay Pearl, I used to have a crush on Steven." Connie instantly regretting what she had says turns to Steven in embarrassment. Everyone goes silent and stares at Connie. "Used to?" Steven asks. Connie looks back at Pearl trying to hide her humiliation. "You can trust me Pearl." Connie says calmly. "Right..well I'm not sure if I have a crush on her per se...But she um-"
Amethyst getting impatient cuts her off "-She met this really badass looking girl at the Big Donut that kinda looks like Rose Quartz not gonna lie..So Pearl broke a few laws and busted Greg's car-"
Connie getting lost responds "Woah woah woah! Pearl broke the law!?" Pearl slouches in her seat and says in a low toned voice "I may have run a red light..And speeded...And drove away in a car chase between me and the police..."
Connie's jaw drops and her eyes widen: "You did all that!? This girl must be really special!"
Pearl continues blushes.
