“my lady, we were so worried about you. When we came to check on you, you were gone.” The cherub hugged her side with tears in his eyes. The others all swarmed her, as she gently reassured them.

“My dears thank you for the concern, I am well. I have to tell you though I may be busy for a bit, till things calm down in the mortal realm.” She looked at all the cherubs, even wiping away tears here and there. “I have been asked to help the guardians, for the time being. It will not be easy, and there may be a battle. So I want everyone to keep their guard up, and make as many arrows as you can in preparation.” The cherubs all gasped and started swarming Kari, asking her questions all at once. Kari held her head in her hands, this was all too much for one day.

“Oh dears I will explain more later, my poor head hurts and I need to rest if you don’t mind.” She then flew off to her modest home, and locked herself in her room. ‘Could this get any worse?’ she thought to herself before drifting off to sleep.

The next day she started making perpetrations for an inevitable battle.

Talking to her head cherubs Dina, Hariel, and Irin, she explained her plans.

“Now we will need a lot of arrows, they do not need to be love arrows. Just some normal ones, maybe infuse some magic in them but that’s not the objective. We just need a lot in little time.” The cherubs all nodded, and started off to work. A small group all prepped and ready to go out for the day approached Kari.

“Lady Kari are you ready to head out for the day?” Turning to them she nodded her head.

“Yes I am ready let’s go.” Pulling an arrow back the cherub called out “Boston", and the group flew into the portal.

Kari felt all the stress of the last 24 hours fall off her shoulders, as she watched couples smile at each other. She loved seeing the fruit of her labor, as the couples she helped meet. Expand their families and spread even more love to others.

Taking aim she pointed at a small boy who seemed too shy to talk to the little girl and her brother playing in the sand box. She released and the arrow met its mark, giving him the courage to walk up and ask to play. Her arrows were not just for love, but also helped humans creatr friendships. Smiling she moved on, she shook her head at the hate being spewed from those whom her arrows were unable to penetrate.

Due to their darkened hearts, from rejecting love, no matter who loved who Kari loved all who found love and friendship.

The darkened hearts were marching and yelling, giving it a shot she had her cherubs open fire with a bout of arrows. The attempt was futile as the arrows just bounced off, and turned into black dust floating off.

“Why must humans be so dark, and unkind to one another? I will never understand.” With a sigh Kari headed off to China, then finishing off in Denmark.

Reappearing back in her domain, things seemed to be quiet. No cherubs flying around, or waiting to greet her. She and her small group flew around, keeping their guard up incase. When she neared her house there she saw the cherubs, they had surrounded her house and trying to look inside.
‘Oh no, someone must have come here. I told them to leave me alone!’ Kari though to herself as she angrily flew to the door. Taking the time to straighten herself out, she opened the door to be treated with a half smile from none other than Jack. Instantly melting her angry heart.

“Hello Kari, just stopped by to check out your domain. It’s very fluffy, with all the clouds, and uhhh” Jack trailed off looking away. “I, well I mean the others” he corrected himself, “were also worried about you, and we’re hoping to go over a game plan. We wanted to know more about Death, and what he's like-" Kari cut him off.
“They, Death is what or who ever they feel like being. Please do not assume a gender or species, as that will only hurt you and make you more vulnerable. I have seen death as a cold, or a bear. You never know what Death is.” Jack nodded and then the atmosphere became awkward, as both were avoiding looking each other in the eye.

‘The conversation has ended, this is so awkward. What do I do?’ Kari thought to herself. Till Jack piped up.
“If you don’t mind the guardians are all at Santa's workshop, you can inform the others there.” Kari mentally thanked Jack for changing the topic, and also for allowing them to move to a place with more people. Kari was not going to make the same mistake twice.

“Yes, shall we get going?” Jack nodded and Kari opened a portal to the workshop, taking a deep breath in she stepped into the portal behind Jack walking into the work shop.
