"Eden, are you okay?"
I stood there in awe of this beautiful person, completely ignoring what Aric had said. The stranger sat there, laughing with his dad as they sat on a bench, his lips curling, as he laughed showing off his perfect straight teeth. Something about him drew me to him like a fly to a light. I watched in the corner of my eye as Aric followed my gaze, to the beautiful boy.
"Eden you can't be serious, you don't actually think something could happen with, with him!"
I turned to Aric the once soft spoken warming look in his eyes, had disappeared and was now filled with something I could only describe as anger.
"What was I thinking, I should of new you were to immature to handle the sight of a boy. Now come on let's go before I tell mother about this"
The hypocrisy of Aric's words boiled my blood.
"Oh, and what are you going to say Aric, that you walked me to your spot, to show me your getaway place!"
I looked back at the boy, his father must of walked into one of the buildings as he was now sitting alone on the bench, and in that moment everything stood still. I could hear Aric continuing to yell at how immature I am, and how stupid it was to take me here, but none of it mattered. I took in a deep breath, and turned to Aric.
"I'm sorry"
I ran, I ran passed the trees allowing the thorns to cut through my legs, the bright red of the blood seeping through the cuts. The bright lights of the town burned my eyes, as I was only two metres away from the bench the boy was sitting on. I felt my pulse quicken, my hands grew cold and sweaty. I had never felt this way before, it scared me, yet made me feel alive.
"Hi"
Any fear I had felt, left, as he turned around to face me. His beautiful hazel eyes bore into mine, my heart stopped, it was as if in this moment, time was infinite. Just as he was about to speak, I heard screaming.
I turned around only to see Aric running from the opening of the trees we were once looking through, I didn't have much time.
"Who are you"
his voice came off so smooth, he looked as curious about me as I did of him.
Just before I could answer, Aric grabbed my wrist with such force. I could see fear in his eyes as if he wasn't angry, but scared. I snapped back to reality and followed him. As we ran back towards the forest, I took one last look at the boy, who was staring at me with a confused yet intrigued look. I turned back with Aric's hand on mine. As we made it back into the heart of the forest, both me and Aric stood there trying to catch our breath, I thought to myself, that this wasn't going to be the last time I saw that boy.
