Chapter 18

A week after the events at Lynn's game, is a repeat of the game, as it could not be played out by the onset of fog. The loud house is in hurry, in a few minutes they have to go, Lynn to play and the rest of the family to cheer her on. All but one, who of course is Lincoln, but he does not care about it, he sees at least seventy percent of the family, anyway no longer as a family.

Something seems to be wrong in the house, Lynn seems to be angry, why? It's because of Rita, she's not feeling well and wants to stay home, very much against Lynn's mood, she wants her mother to come along, she says, "Mom, are you sure, you'll miss me then I get the victory." Rita sighs and massages her head, she says "Jr. I'm sure I'm not feeling well." Lynn protests "but-" but she is interrupted by her father "Jr. if your mother is not feeling well let her alone, and if she wants to stay at home let her do that." Lynn looks at the floor, disappoints and says "Ok dad." Lynn Sr. nods and says, "Well, go to Vanzilla now, we're leaving soon."

Lynn leaves the house and Lynn Sr. tells his wife, "We'll come home as soon as the game is over, you should rest." Rita smiles and says, "Thanks, Lynn, you can go eat ice cream, after the game, if you want." Her husband nods and goes out of the house, shortly afterwards you can hear how Vanzilla moves away from the house.

Meanwhile, in the garage, Lincoln is about to go outside, but is stopped by Kudamon, who says, "Lincoln, would you mind if I stay at home?" Lincoln looks at his digivice and says "No, no problem but why?" Kudamon says "I'm very tired, I slept little yesterday." Lincoln nods and says "No problem Kudamon:" he lets Kudamon out again and she jumps on the bed and lies down, he says "I'll be back soon." With that, Lincoln leaves the garage and leaves Kudamon alone.

Some time later, Rita goes into the kitchen to get some drinks for herself, but looks through the window of the garage, she says "I should talk to Lincoln." She goes to the garage and knocks on the door when she gets no answer, she opens the door and says, "Lincoln, are you there? I'd like to talk to you." She looks around in the garage and sees that it is actually well cleaned, unlike she has imagined, she looks around but sees no Lincoln but only Kudamon lying on the bed and now looking at Rita.

Rita looks at the white golden creatures and asks "Are you the beast my daughters talked about?" Kudamon stares at Rita, but then nods, Rita says, "Thank you for giving my son company." Kudamon just keeps staring at Rita as she continues, "I know I have no right to ask that, but could you continue to give him company?"

Kudamon nods and Rita says "Thank you very much, I really appreciate that, you're a good friend." Rita just wants to leave when Kudamon says "Even if I accept the gesture, it does not mean that I like you." Rita turns around in shock and looks at Kudamon, who looks at Rita with a serious look.

Rita holds her head and says, "I'm feeling worse, when I thought, I just thought this animal has spoken." Kudamon looks at her and says, "Because you're right, I talked, you're not crazy." Rita takes a step back and asks, "What are you?"

Kudamon gets up and says "I'm Kudamon, a Digimon, that's short for Digital Monster." Rita asks, "Does my son know that you ..." Kudamon says, "That I can talk? Of course he knows that, he is my partner."

Rita asks confused "Partner?" Kudamon explains "Digimon can have human partners, Lincoln is mine." Rita asks, "What are the Digimon partners doing?" Kudamon says "Digimon are your best friends in all times, we have fun together, help each other and much more."

Kudamon says, "But I want to talk about something else, about this family." Rita looks at the floor and says, "I suppose Lincoln told you what happened." Kudamon nods and says, "Yes, and I'm shocked that a family would do that." Rita looks down on the floor in shame and Kudamon says "I'm making a point here, I do not like you."
