They spend the afternoon walking around the terrain, sometimes stopping to dance at a song or to get some food. Hours seemed to pass way too fast, and before they realized it was close to midnight.

“Tired yet, Shinozaki?” Yoshiki smirked at her.

“A bit.” She giggled.

“Let’s rest here then.”

They sat down on a nearby bench, there was nearly anybody around though, since everybody was busy at the music festival.

“Thanks for taking me here today, Kishinuma. I had an amazing time.”

“It’s not over yet.” Yoshiki whispered.

“Hm?” Ayumi blinked and sat up a bit more. What did he mean?

Ayumi almost jumped up at sudden loud noises and flashes.

Fireworks came off the festival terrain.

“I got one last surprise for you.” He said, smiling. “Close your eyes.”

Ayumi felt her face turn warmer, she was sure it must be a crimson red color right now.

Was he going to kiss her?

“No no no no, that’s impossible.” She thought to herself.

She closed her eyelids, and felt something heavy around her neck.

“Open your eyes.”

She slowly opened her eyes and looked down, where she saw a necklace with a small locket on it hanging around her neck and she took the locket in her hand. The tiny, metal object felt cold in comparison to her hands warmth.

“Happy birthday, Shinozaki.” Yoshiki said, cheerfully.

Ayumi was so surprised and overjoyed, that she felt tears streaming down her face.

“S-Shinozaki!? Are you okay?!” Yoshiki said, a bit taken back by the tears.

Ayumi dashed forward into his chest, hugging him.

“I-I thought you forgot!"
