Happy Birthday Ayumi!

Part 3

Yoshiki smiled comfortingly.

“Haha, I could never forget your birthday, Shinozaki. You are very special to me.” He put his hand on her head for a second.

“Open the locket, there is something special inside.”

Ayumi let go of the hug and stepped backwards, wiping her tears.

When she opened the locket, she saw a small note inside.

 

“For the most beautiful girl in the world, Ayumi Shinozaki.”

 

“Kishinuma-kun…”

“I know this isn’t much bu-”

Ayumi hugged him again.

“No… It’s perfect.. This gift means a lot to me.. Thank you so much..”

Yoshiki smiled and hugged back.

“No problem, Ayumi.”

 

Ayumi stood on her tip-toes and placed a kiss on Yoshiki’s cheek.

 

The soft touch of her lips on his cheek, were enough to make Yoshiki’s cheeks turn to a deep shade of red and his heart beated at a rhythm that was at least twice of the normal speed.

 

Ayumi stepped backward and smiled at him, her blue eyes meeting his grey and she felt her heart beat a bit faster every second she looked at his eyes.

 

She stepped forward again and grabbed his collar, pulling him in for a kiss as she went to stand on her tip-toes again, trying to somehow compare the almost one feet height difference.

 

Yoshiki was pretty sure his heart left his chest when their lips met.

He put his hands on her waist, and gently pulled her closer, not wanting for this moment to end.

 

Ayumi let go of his collar and put her arms around his neck and started moving her lips along with his.

 

When the sound of the fireworks ended, and the distant sound of people started getting louder, Ayumi slowly pulled away from the kiss and smiled at the boy in front of her.

He smiled back and pulled her in for a hug again, letting her head rest on his chest.

 

Ayumi heard the fast, rhythmic beating of his heart and smiled happily.

“Thank you so much, Kish- Yoshiki-kun. I love you.” She mumbled tiredly.

“I love you too.” Yoshiki said. “Let’s go walk you home.”
