AbigailThe air seems thicker than usual, something weighed it down, making me feel an odd sensation that I didn't feel before this moment.
I can hear my heels click with each step I take down the grimy sidewalk. Looking around, my face fills with disgust when all I see those that surround me. None were remotely close to my tax bracket, and yet here I am walking down the same sidewalk with them.
I hate that I had to come live here during the summer. All because daddy thinks I'm too spoiled, so he sent me here to humble myself.
However, he still insisted on paying rent for my apartment that he picked out for me to stay in, which is smaller than my own apartment back home but I guess I'm grateful.
Yet, he commanded me to find a job and make my own money in order to keep the apartment.
I've been here for over two months and still haven't found a job but still have an apartment. So, things were going good for me.
Right now, I need to get some food in my system but I have nothing in my fridge, resulting in me going to one of my favorite restaurants: 1761 Manchester. I was able to catch a cab instead of walking all the way over to the restaurant.
I give the driver the address and close my eyes while he drives with soft music playing throughout the car. It didn't take long for me to zone out into a deep and needed sleep after closing my eyes but I was awoken by a male voice. "Ma'am, we've arrived."
I snap out of my sleep immediately and hand him the amount of money needed to pay him. "Have a good one, ma'am."
I close the door and let my bag hang on my arm as I walk up to the white door with a bee symbol on the handle.
Before I even get the chance to open the door for myself, a man runs up and cuts in front of me, opening the door for himself then leaving me behind; stunned.
I study him for a bit through the window. He's taller than me, his eyes are a shade of green I've never seen before.
His hair cut short on the sides and curly on top, his lips were a dark shade of pink; seemed like he put lipstick on because of how opaque they appear.
He has one black earring on his left ear and a cross necklace around his neck. His clothes are worn out, a baggy v-neck with black jeans and with a beanie in his hand; his nails painted black. He seems out of place, not belonging in a neighborhood like this.
He stands in front of the host, waiting for a table possibly but I believe he doesn't have enough funds to afford it.
I huff harshly before walking up to him, taping his shoulder roughly but he doesn't budge.
I wait for a few seconds then tap his shoulder even harder making him turn around for the first time.
In my mind, I rehearsed everything I want to say to him but when his eyes catch mine, my mind goes blank.
Scoffing as he rolls his eyes, he turns back around to continue talking to the host. As I stare at his back, the words rush back through my head and I prepare myself to not freeze up like the first time.
Repeating what I did, I tap his shoulder.
"Excuse me, "I say, annoyed. I hear him laugh under his breath before he turning around slowly with a smirk tugging at his lips.
He leans one arm against the podium and the other still holding his beanie. "You were very rude back there. You purposely ran up in front of me to open the door for yourself and didn't at least hold it for me to enter."
His face was still, no sign of emotion written on it before looking down at my body then making eye contact with my brown eyes.
"Is that all?" He said nonchalantly and I stutter.
"Y-You're not going to apologize for what you did out there?"
He furrows his brows before the host whispers something to him but he waves him off. I stand there as I cross my arms, waiting for him to reply.
He pulls himself away from the podium and stalks over to me, making me gulp. I feel the tension thicken as he hovered over me. Our bodies nearly touching. I didn't want to meet my eyes with his, but he did. He places his index finger under my chin and pushes it up before swiping his thumb across my bottom lip, causing me to jerk my head back.
"Louis Vuitton, hm?" he said, referring to my bag.
I didn't respond. "Gucci belt, Chanel heels, and a Saint Laurent dress. You know, it's considered tacky to wear multiple designers brands at the same time?" he examines.
"How would you know? By the way you look, you seem like you go dumpster diving for your clothes," I snaps but he didn't take offense, he just stares into my eyes.
He hums, "Daddy's girl, aren't you?"
"You have no right to get in my business." I state, "You can't—"
He interrupts me, "Daddy spoils his little girl, doesn't he? If the little girl wants it, she gets it," he brings his hand up to tuck a strand of hair behind my ear causing goosebumps to rise. I smack his hand away from me but he doesn't even care.
"So tense, loosen up, baby."
I cringe internally, "Don't you dare call me that."
He pouts, "Oh, no. Are you going to call your daddy to get me arrested?" The way he made me seem, made me feel outraged. He had no business of bringing daddy into this or judge me based off of my appearance.
I back up, "You're so..." I stop, plundering my mind for anything to say, lost of words, "...Filthy." I growl before grabbing my phone out of my purse, "What's your name? I'm going to report you," I said, thinking that would scare him away.
"Oh, baby, you have everything you need, I'm a filthy man. How about you write that down as a description of me when you get to the station, hm?"
"Get out of here!"
He smirks, helping his dimples appear. I stare at him as he slowly walks past me but before he walks out completely, he threw his beanie at me but instead of catching it, I let it hit the ground.
"Here, keep that to remember me," he said and walks away.
After letting everything settle in my mind, I squat down to pick up the black beanie. I dust off the dirt that was caught from the ground as I examined it. I look at the exterior, nothing special was found. But, then I look inside and found white lettering that was sewn into it.
It had two words, eleven letters in total.
Harry Styles.
