Daichi POV

"Let's go upstairs, okay?" He says as he opens the door. "Yeah, I guess so." We walk to the stairs and the moment Sugawara takes the first step his mom opens the door to the hall and looks at us very confused. Sugawara turns around and looks a me for a second. "Why didn't you say hello, Koushi? Oh, Daichi! Hello! You haven't been here in a long time. How are you doing?" His mom smiles bright. "I am doing great, thank you."

"Mom, can Daichi stay over for a little while?" Sugawara asks and his mom looks concerned. "A while? Is something wrong?"

"We got into a little fight with his parents..." Sugawara smiles and looks at me. I totally forgot Suga is always totally honest with his parents. "A fight? Why don't you two take a drink and tell me what happened." She walks back to the kitchen and sits down at the table. I follow Suga and we sit down on the other side of the table. "Well?" His mom continues.

"I told Daichi." Sugawara says as a blush appears on his cheeks. "Oh, really~" His mom looks at me and waits for me to answer. "What? What did you tell me?" I look at Suga with a confusing look on my face. "That I like you, silly." I look confused at his mom. "So, your mom knew?" I ask and his mom starts giggling. "Ohh~ I've known for, what, 2 years?" She looks at Sugawara and he nods. "You have liked me for 2 years?" I look at Sugawara and he just smiles. "So? Daichi? Koushi? What happened when you told him?" Suga takes a while to answer. "He..." He has trouble telling what happened. "I had some trouble believing it and admitting I liked him too, but I told him today."

"That's why we are here..." Sugawara his smile fades and he looks at his mom. "They didn't take it well, did they? Well, of course, you can stay here Daichi. As long as you need to." I smile thankfully to his mom. "Mom? His dad wanted to hit him." His mom looks at me. "Did he hurt you before?" I just look at Sugawara and at mY hands. I am so confused. Why does she know everything? Even Sugawara didn't know this. I look at his mom. "Let's just say that he can't keep his temper in check. It's not really dangerous."

"You poor sheep. Parents aren't allowed to hit their children. You know that it isn't normal, right?" I look at Suga and can't find the right words to say. "No, mom. He doesn't." His mom looks at him and sighs. "Grab some chips or cookies and something to drink before you go upstairs, alright? Your dad and I are going out for dinner. You may order some pizza. I'll pay you back when we get back. Have fun boys!"

"Thanks mom. Let's go, Daichi!" Suga stands up and walks to the stairs. I thank his mom and walk upstairs as well. It really has been way too long since I've been here. I put my bag down and look around in his room. It hasn't changed since the last time I was here. It's clean and organized. "Do you want that extra mattress or are you alright with just my bed?" I look at Sugawara who is cleaning his desk. I sit down on his bed and put my head in my hands. "Daichi?"

"Can we talk about us first? It all happened so fast. I'm so confused." Suga cleans up the last of his desk and sits down next to me. "Of course. Sorry, what do you want to talk about?" I sigh and let myself fall backwards on his bed. "Are we a thing now?"

"I hope so. If you think it's okay, then I will gladly be your boyfriend." I can feel his eyes in my skin. He is looking at me. "Yes, it is okay." I answer and look at the ceiling. "What are we going to do about my parents?"

"Just stay here until one of them calls you." I get up and look at him. "What if they won't call?" I get my phone and check if I missed any texts or calls. "Then you'll stay here."

"I can't just run away like that? All my stuff is at home." Suga grabs my hand and smiles. "It'll work out. Don't worry so much. You're welcome here if you need to. You heard my mom."

"I don't care if your parents are okay with me staying here. It's that I can't just run away from home and leave my parents." Suga his expression turned into concern. "But your dad abused you. I won't let you go back to him." I pull my hand away from his. "I still have a mom. She is very sweet." I start raising my voice. "You can't just drag me away from my family!"

"I am not just- Don't act as if I'm the bad guy here. I just want to protect you. You know that." I sigh and lay down in his bed. "I know, I just need some time to let this all sink in."

"Take your time. If you need anything, like, anything at all, just tell me." He gets up and smiles. "Thanks."
