"Why are you even going in there?" Hoseok sounded hysterical. It was funny. This whole situation was hilarious. "Why can't your mom just go get it herself? She always does, why do you have to go this time??"

"Hoseok. My mom's busy doing something else, and she needs these herbs for what she's doing." Yoongi turned to look at his best friend. Sighing when he saw the utter hysteria in his friend's eyes. "Look. We aren't little kids anymore," Hoseok looked down, "I can take care of myself just fine."

He continued to walk, knowing that his friend would follow him. And correct he was when he heard the crunch of dead leaves under the weight of a pair of shoes. Yoongi didn't see the problem. He was just going to go into the forest and get some herbs his mother needed for medicine. A quick in and out thing.

"Oh my god." Yoongi groaned when he saw the rest of his friends standing at the edge of the forest—well as close as they dared to get. "Did you really have to call them?" The short boy turned around to look at his friend behind him.

Hoseok looked like a deer caught in the head lead lights. "I... I... I panicked—okay?!" The taller boy threw his hands up in the air. "What was I supposed to do!?"

"Nothing! Absolutely nothing!" Yoongi wasn't mad, really. He wasn't. "It's just some fucking trees in one specific place with grass and bushes. Some small animals and like a few deer, Hoseok! I'm not going to die!"

"Yoongi! Don't go! Please don't leave us!" And before he knew it his face was being pressed into a firm chest. "I won't let you go in there alone, no way in all of hell!" Yoongi tried to push Seokjin away. Damn the man and his obsession with his shoulders.

Before he knew it he was being pulled away from the older man and trapped into thick and strong arms. "If you go in there I'll throw myself off a cliff." Jeongguk's voice was too serious to be taken seriously.

"If anything happens I will jump off along with Jeonggukie." Jimin's eyebrows were scrunched up. His lips were pressed together in a thin line.

Oh, for the love of everything alive.

"No. I'm going I jump off the cliff if you don't let go right this fucking instant." Jeongguk automatically let go. "I really don't see the problem guys—I've been going in and out of that forest since I was a little kid. I'm not scared of it. You are." Yoongi made sure to look all of his friends in the face, he needed them to understand.

"We know. It's just that we're worried."

"I know Seokjin. I know, " there's a gentle smile on his face now. "But I'll be okay. I am an adult after all." Rolling his eyes the shorter man crossed his arms. Yoongi won this argument.

"Just... be careful." Hoseok still looked uneasy.

Yoongi offered another smile before heading toward the forest, he hadn't been in the forest for a few years, and he missed it. He remembers how the fairies used to get him flowers and play with his hair. They even used to dye his hair. Well not really, the fairies just sprinkled flower dust on his hair and let it sink in. One day he came home with a head full of wild mint hair. His mother had jumped at the sight of her small baby with his hair something other than the dark brown it was. Then laughing when Yoongi shook his head, giggling at how pretty the dust looked around him.

He wonders if the fairies missed him, or even remembered him. It wasn't just the fairies he missed but also the shapeshifters. The small little bunny boys he used to play with must have a family of their own right about now. Actually—that's one of the reasons why Yoongi became friends with Jeongguk, to begin with. The younger man reminded him of the rabbit children he used to play with. Then there was Jimin, he also had a resemblance to the magical creatures he enjoyed being around as a kid. The back then small boy reminded Yoongi of a fairy. A big smile on his face and a laugh as light and bright as that of a pixie.

The now 23-year-old hadn't been to the forest since the start of high school. He remembers teasing his friends about how much they were terrified of the harmless forest. It was all the townsfolk's fault for engraving the thought of the forest being dangerous to the kids. Even the adults are scared of the forest. He can't complain though, because that means Yoongi gets the place all to himself.

"What the—" all around him there were small glowing masses. Every time they moved from one side to another or zipped by Yoongi the man heard light and shrill bells ringing. Fairies.

The more they moved around, the more fairy dust was sprinkled. Yoongi smiled, pink gums showing, the action seemed to encourage the fairies on even more. The golden hue around them seemed to increase in brightness. They were happy to see him. The ringing of bells that they spoke in seemed to sound out his name in a sweet melody of soft symbols in the quiet wind.

Yoongi decided to sit down, wanting to appreciate the fact that the magical creatures of the forest remembered him. Soon enough the rabbits decided to poke their heads from their burrows, from where Yoongi could see they were nothing but babies. Soon enough older and bigger rabbits took a peek too, and before he knew is his rabbit friends from long ago were running towards him. Some of them shifted mid-run, revealing small but older looking creatures.

"As much as I'd love to catch up guys—and trust me I really do—mom sent me to get some herbs and plants." The shifters who he had been talking to nodded their heads in understanding. "Um, by any chance can you guys help me find the things I need," Yoongi's question was directed toward the fairies around him, they thrilled in agreement. "Mom wasn't exactly specific with the territories of the things she needed..."

The fairies started to create a swirl of light and then separated in spurts and because of the action, the air around Yoongi started to glow. Once the dust that was flung onto him seeped into his skin he started to feel all warm and tingly. There was no feeling that could compare with the strange sensation one gets when showered with fairy dust, it wasn't bad, it was nice, and it definitely was calming. And that's when Yoongi noticed how the lowly lit forest had gone completely dark. Save for himself and the fairies.

Perfect. He and his mother were worried over the fact that Yoongi had to wait until it got dark for him to pick what they needed, but seeing as it was already dark he didn't need to worry anymore.

"Well. Lead the way."
