Sam
I arrived at Danny and Elijah's penthouse apartment after I walked dogs. I was planning on hanging out with Gabe again today, but Danny had asked me to hang out with him and the rest of our friends for awhile at his place. I decided that I needed to act normally and still hang out with them, instead of ignoring them and spending all my time with the married man I had a crush on.
I didn't know if it was even a crush anymore...I felt like I had developed feelings that were far deeper than just a crush.
After I knocked on the door, it was only a moment before Danny answered.
He smiled, giving me a hug before ushering me inside.
Taylor and Evan were sitting at the dining table and looked to be having breakfast.
They both turned to look at me and their faces lit up with smiles. I hadn't seen much of them since Danny's wedding. I guess Danny was the glue that stuck us all together and it wasn't the same if he wasn't around.
I had seen Evan the day we had our dance party though and that had gone perfectly fine. Maybe it was just me and I was nervous to reach out to either of them for some reason I couldn't place.
I was happy to see them though.
Taylor, who had blonde hair and blue eyes, waved excitedly. He was incredibly gorgeous, sweet, and often funny—so it really wasn't a surprise that he had also snagged a billionaire boyfriend. Tom was even richer than Elijah, but he didn't like to show it off a lot like Elijah did. Tom spoiled Taylor whenever he could though and we all knew Taylor could get Tom to do whatever he wanted.
Taylor was selectively mute, so he either signed or wrote us notes on his trusty notebook that he usually carried everywhere with him.
The same as Evan, we all knew that something had happened to him in his past to make him the way he was—some sort of trauma. But we had never gotten to the bottom of it. He had Tom though and I got the hunch that he was completely open with him. That was good enough for me and I knew it was good enough for Danny and Evan. Taylor didn't have to tell us anything he didn't want to—as long as he had someone in his life that he completely trusted, we were all happy.
"Taylor and I made French toast for breakfast," Danny said as we walked further into the apartment. "Want some?"
"Sure," I answered.
Danny smiled and motioned for me to have a seat at the dining table.
I obeyed and went to sit with our friends.
When I sat down—across from Taylor and next to Evan who was sitting at the head of the table—I noticed Taylor studying me with a slightly curious look.
I glanced at Evan to see that he may have been eyeing me strangely as well.
I knew then that Danny had told them something.
He must have told them what he saw when he and Elijah came to my apartment. I hadn't thought that Gabe and I were acting that suspicious, but they had both seen right through me.
"What?" I asked, trying to act innocent.
Taylor pulled his notebook closer to him and jotted something down. I watched him as he wrote and then he held it up for me to read.
You look normal. I expected you to look a little gayer.
I narrowed my eyes at him and he gave me a smug, closed lipped smile.
"Like you're one to talk," I said as Evan looked back and forth between us.
Taylor then switched to signing, going to slow so I would have a better chance of understanding him.
