Royals - Lorde

I heard Jenny call out to me as she stepped out of the school's main gate, looking slightly disheveled as she stumbled down the flat steps. The crowd was thick and anxious to get out, everyone dashing to their cars to avoid the after school traffic jams. I didn't blame them.

You could practically hear the collective groan of relief as the bell rang, students and teachers alike scrambling out the classes in a frenzy. I chuckled as Jenny hopped in the car, her short skirt floating alarmingly high due to the winds.

''I hate this dumbass weather! Why can't it be more sunny and less...wet?''
She whined as I squeezed past the growing traffic and sped up. I shook my head, amused as she continued to rant about the now stormy winds that were slowly picking up speed. 'I hope there's no storm tonight', I thought as I switched through the radio absently.

'Ocean Eyes by Billie Eilish' began to play, and I relaxed in my seat, enjoying the lull of the music. (A/N  Btw this song makes me think of my bf all the time and I absolutely love it. Sorry to interrupt but I just had to put that in hehe)

Jenny suddenly stopped blabbering and frowned at me. She moved to change the song but I slapped her hand away, smirking slightly as she pouted.

''Isn't there anything less... monotone on?''
I gasped dramatically. ''How could you possibly berate the most beautiful song I've ever heard?'' I shrieked in mock fury. Jenny's eyes widened as I stared at her pointedly.

''Um, okay. I'm sorry, I guess?'' she mumbled and I sat back, content with her reply. ''But the song still sucks so lemme change it''. I snapped my head around and gave her my worst glare, but she just shrugged. ''Driver gets dibs'' Her frown grew as I just smirked.

She snorted and looked out the window, muttering lowly under her breath. ''What was that?'' I mocked,'' I didn't quite hear what you were saying''. She narrowed her eyes at me playfully.
''I was just talking to myself of how I should never let you drive and how it is my car so the radio also kinda belongs to me.'' she drawled out, her eyes watching me smugly.

''Hmmm...'' I pretended to think on it ''Nah, I really don't give a shit''
I laughed as her face fell and her lips were drawn in a thin line of disappointment. We stopped at a McDonald's takeaway, both hungry as we had skipped lunch after a full-blown out food battle had erupted, started by the one and only Toby. I swear that boy lives to cause trouble whenever he can.

Obviously, Jenny knew the guy in the booth rather... intimately, and his suggestive smirk only proved my theory. I would've hightailed out as soon as the food came, but sadly Jenny was now the driver, having tricked me out of the seat.

Crafty little b*tch. Though the guy was kinda hot in a rugged biker way and looked totally out of place in the smiley booth , my patience finally ran out when they refused to stop flirting, despite my constant attempt to annoy Jenny by poking her.

'Like come on people, get over it already!'
I was practically fuming when Jenny finally drove out of there. She'd noticed my annoyed glances their way and with a quick kiss on his lips, she bolted, knowing me well enough to know that I needed solitude to calm down.

We stopped at my house and ran inside, shielding ourselves from the downpour that had begun on our drive home. Once inside, we quickly headed for the island in the kitchen and plopped down to eat our much awaited food. Jenny sighed in heavenly content as she devoured her 3 burgers in a very un–Jenny manner.

She noticed my look and shrugged. ''I'm stawving ok?. My dief is kiwing me an I'm vewwy hungwy'', she mumbled incoherently through a mouthful.
I burst out laughing and barely managed to pass her the coke when she almost choked on her bite, gratefully sipping down at least half the bottle as I tried to calm down.
