Yukari's Greatest Battle (Yukari, Girls und Panzer)

A Special Day - Part 1

A week and a half after his and his team's try out match victory,Ben now sat in his apartment planning how he would confess his feelings to Yukari...

"I have to do it, there has to be a way..." He muttered to himself, feeling his heart race at the mere thought of telling her.

"Wait a minute! Her Birthday! I could tell her on her birthday!" He exclaimed to his empty apartment.

"June 6th huh?..." He mused to himself with a smile

"Alright then, Operation B-Day starts now!"

"I need to find her a present, talk to her parents and work out where to take her and all in two days!" He yelled as worry covered his face.

"Don't worry Pat. We'll spend after school today looking for a present and then Saturday doing everything else, if we do that we'll be ready for Sunday..." He reassured himself as he took a sip of his tea.

"I should get to school..."

---Timeskip: Time to B-day, 48 hours---

Ben ran into the Gates of the school, hoping to find one of his other crew members before he saw Yukari. Although he didn't want to tell anyone what he was going to do, he needed someone to distract Yukari and get her out of her house on Saturday so he could talk to her parents without her knowing.

After slowing down and walking into one of the corridors, he was greeted by Erwin.

"Heeey commander~"

"Oh Erwin, hey. I'm glad you found me, I need to talk to you about something..." He responded.

"Okay, what is it?"

"I...I'm going to take Yukari out for her birthday..." He stuttered out, feeling his face heat up.

"R-Really? That's so cute~" Erwin responded.

"I-It's n-nothing like that!" Ben replied defensively as he felt his face heat up.

"Suure it isn't~" Erwin replied with a questioning look covering her face.

He sighed upon seeing the way she was looking at him and slumped his shoulders. "Alright... Fine... It is something like that..."

"Hahaha, I knew it~ I'm so happy you're finally making a move~" Erwin replied with a large smile. "Its about time really~"

Ben sighed once again, "...I know...". Fear covering his face as he thought about what he was going to do.

"Don't worry, you'll be fine~" Erwin said as she tapped him on the shoulder.

"Alright~" He replied, a smile covering his face as he forced out his nerves. "What I need from you though, is to keep Yukari busy today and tomorrow so that I can buy her a present and talk to her parents about taking her out for the day".

"I'll keep her busy then~ Operation Fortitude begins now!" Erwin said whilst raising her fist into the air.

Ben chuckled upon hearing that reference, and high fived Erwin as the bell rang and he walked off to class.

---Timeskip: Time to B-Day, 40 hours---

After spending the day trying to seem as normal as possible around Yukari, Ben finally made it to the end of school.

As he left the school gates he began walking to a shop he had found not long after he first came to Ooarai. It was an antique shop that specialized in rare world war 2 items...

He figured if there was anywhere he could find a present for Yukari, it would be there...

After he entered the store and greeted the owner he began looking in earnest for a present. After about half an hour of looking, and mostly just seeing things he'd like to buy for himself, Ben found something to buy Yukari.

"This is perfect!", he announced as he held up a German iron cross medal. It read 1944 on the case it came in and had some minor fire damage to it.

"She'll love it~" He said to himself as the owner of the store inquired as to what he meant...

"Are you buying that as a present son?"

"Uh, Yeah I am. I was going to give this to a girl I really like for her birthday..."

"I'd say you more than like her to spend this much on her~" The store owner replied with a wink.

"I suppose you're right... I guess I...I... Love her..." Ben sputtered out as he clenched the medal in his hand.

The store owner smiled widely upon hearing this and said, "I think you certainly do, especially with the amount of trouble it took you to say it~ Only when you really love someone will you feel nerves like the ones I saw on your face, reminds me of when I was young when I first met my wife~"

He laughed softly at this and smiled at the owner. "Thanks, I appreciate that".

"No problem. But tell me, why this as a present?" The owner asked, raising an eyebrow.

"She really loves stuff from world war 2, so thats why~" Ben said with a smile.

"She does? Well you hold on to her son, she sounds like a keeper~"

"Indeed, she loves it just as much as I do~"

"No kidding? Well I'll tell you what kid. Since I know it was hard for you to open up like that, and believe me I do, I'll give you that medal for half price~"

"I can't accept that!" He said with a gasp.

"I insist. I want you to make your girl happy~"

"Thank you sir, I owe you one for sure~" Ben said with a smile as he waved the man off, leaving the store.

After he left, he returned to his apartment and began browsing online for places to take Yukari...
