~Sasuke~

As soon as I caught up to the two remaining Sand Siblings, Gaara was barely standing on his own two feet. He quickly turned around clutching his head with his left hand, grunting in pain before swatting his sister Temari into a far off tree. As I glanced her way, I saw her slouch down quickly from the impact.

Gaara quickly caught on to my chakra, as we locked eyes I saw his expression change to a smirk. I returned it with a smirk of my own.

“I have no idea what scheme you sand village clowns are planning, but I’ll stop it, no matter what it is! Besides…”

As Gaara continued to listen to what I had to say, I witnessed his skin cracking like it did before in the arena. The skin on his right cheek cracking and falling to pieces as his grin gets bigger. I don’t let this change my mind as I shout out the end of my statement.

“I’m dying to see, what you really are!”

Gaara looked at me momentarily before crouching down to the branch he was standing on, screaming in the process. Temari seemed to know what was going on as she shouted out to her brother.

“Gaara no!” I looked at him carefully, listening for any type of information as Temari continued to try and talk to her brother. “No Gaara! Remember our mission!”

Gaara easily ignored her, deeming her unworthy of his time, “We’re so alike Uchiha, I have but one friend unlike you, but there not what makes you strong, it’s your purpose that does it. In that way we’re alike, but mine is the stronger purpose, for only by destroying you and all you represent can I even prove that I exist, only by killing you will I know what it’s like to live!” He screamed into the forest with an evil smirk as the words from only a few weeks ago echoed through my head.

~Flashback~

Kakashi was in the middle of my training when I noticed that he’d stopped moving. His attention focused on something to the left side of our area. I was panting heavily, trying to catch my breath as I glared at my Sensei.

“What is it?”

Kakashi easily explained, “I sense a trace of bloodlust in the air, alright come on out!” Once Kakashi raised his voice I noticed movement coming from a giant boulder on the edge of our area, Gaara had revealed himself, fixating his gaze on me.

“So it’s you…” Kakashi concluded, the Sand Genin wasn’t paying any attention to him though, only me.

“Tell me, what is your true purpose? Why is it you seek power?” He questioned, when I didn’t answer him right away, we locked eye contact and held it, waiting to see what the other would do. I gave up caring and answered his previous question.

“Like it’s any business of yours, beat it, your interrupting my training.”

Gaara’s eyes narrowed when I told him to take off and after a moment, settled for turning his back to me. Before he moved to leave, he made sure to say something more to me.

“I see it, you have the eyes, eyes that seek power and will do anything to get it, even kill, eyes full of hate, like mine. We’re the same.”

~End Flashback~

“You are my…you’re my…AHHH!”

My opponent went from holding his head tightly to looking up and lunging forward instantly, reaching to attack me like a wild animal. I crouched down slightly to react when a form appeared in front of Gaara, holding him back with a Kunai.
