Layla's flight was coming in today. She rushed through traffic to get to the airport. Grabbing the parking stub from the machine she sped through the garage looking for a place. Luckily she found one pretty quickly and slammed the car in park. She rushed through the walkers overpass and into the main terminal. Winded, she looked at the arrivals. "Fantastic, delayed" she sighed. She was tired and hungry. "MMMM..fries" she breathed. She got her order and she sat across from the arrival gate waiting for her best friend. Layla didn't know she was picking her up, so she hoped that she would be surprised and not blow past her in the crowd of people. She heard the call for arrival of the flight. Jumping up she dodged the flow of people traffic to the gate. "Oh my gawd look at you!" Layla exclaimed when she exited the gate. "You look so cute!" she continued. "Yeah thanks." was the the sad reply. "Oh stop! You look fine!" Layla hugged her. "Are you ready for this weekend?" Layla asked hugging her again. "Actually yes, I'm so happy to see you. I feel better with you here."
The pair went arm and arm down to the luggage wheel and retrieved Layla's luggage. They exited the main terminal, and started walking back to the car. "Let's go check in and get this party started!" Layla laughed. "I don't know how much of a party I'm going to be Layla. I'm uncomfortable." she retorted. "Well it's time to step out of that comfort zone girl! It's going to be a blast!" Layla pumped her fists in the air, dropping her purse and her carry on. "Shit!" She said picking everything up laughing.
"Here we are!" she said popping the trunk. "Is this yours?" Layla asked caressing the fender of the Camaro. "It's mine for the duration of the trip" she said laughing. "Swanky" Layla laughed back. They sped off down the ramp into the Orlando traffic. The drive was awkwardly silent. She was sure Layla was tired, but she herself didn't really feel like talking. She was nervous to be around so many people; nervous about the way her body had changed since the last time Layla saw her; and overly nervous about meeting Sam and Colby.
They arrived to the mob outside the hotel. "Check in time I guess" she sighed. Finding a parking spot, they hopped out of the car. "Let's just leave everything for now. We can get a cart inside" Layla said. "Good plan!" she said back. Pulling a hoodie over her head, she locked the car. "What are you doing?" Layla asked. "Locking the car numbnuts" she said confused. "No, it's like 1000 degrees outside WHY did you put on a hoodie. You look stupid." Layla said gesturing her hand at her. "I was cute, now I look stupid. GREAAAT Layla. I mean we're only going into playlist. I want to represent" she said gesturing across her chest and down her arms at the logo. "You ruined the outfit. Take the merch off or put on one of their tshirts. It's literally sweltering right now. You're gonna die." Layla was walking away at that point. "They don't fit anymore" she whispered to no one.
As they walked through the lobby she felt as if every person's eyes were on her. She walked uncomfortably next to Layla. Shifting the tote she had stuffed her purse in infront of her to hide her form. She kept her head low, the feeling of flushing rising from her neck to her face. They easily checked in, got their room keys and made their way to the elevator. "Why are you so red sis?" Layla looked at her concerned. "Oh I'm just hot" she faked fanned herself. "See? If you had worn that hoodie I'd be picking you up off the lobby floor by now" Layla rolled her eyes. They got to their room and swung open the door. "Home sweet home!" Layla exclaimed flinging herself onto the nearest bed. She stood just inside the door where she had caught a glimpse of herself in the full length mirror on the wall. "What am I doing here like this" she thought. "Get in here and shut the door before someone steals us!" Layla called. "We really should go get a cart and haul our crap up here" she said back to her. "Actually a good idea. Let's go!" And off they went back down to the lobby. Impending doom spread through her body once again, but she kept her tote bag close infront of her. "Here's one!" Layla called, 10 steps ahead of her. "Layla get off of it!! We've been here 5 minutes! You're going to get us kicked out!" she laughed hysterically at Layla. She was really glad her best friend was here. She was also really glad she had grabbed this ginormous tote bag.
